House plant care, repotting, plant location, outdoor vegetable and flower gardening are a few topics that will be covered during this class! Learn the history of the 700 acre property and the Great Canadian Lodge tradition that exists in the heart of Jasper National Park. Please wear appropriate footwear. DESCRIPTION OF EVENTS LECTURES PARKS CANADA LECTURE SERIES Wahkootowin is a Cree word that represents the connections that people have to the environment, each other, and themselves. This presentation explores these connections through the Cree teachings of the Medicine Wheel, and the Tipi. TRAVEL LECTURE River cruising 101 With Jo-ann moloney Find out how river cruises provide a unique way of seeing the interior of a county. Learn about life onboard river cruise ships and the advantages of having less than 200 guests on board. Discover the food and entertainment offered onboard and what the accommodations are like. Come see the photos of the highlights of the numerous rivers throughout Europe, Africa and Asia. After attending this seminar you ll have a whole new take on cruising. Marvel at the monuments of Paris, followed by a cruise on Seine River in northern France. On the way to Normandy visit Claude Monet s gardens; Joan of Arc s Rouen; the charming harbour of Honfleur and the D-Day Canadian landing beach in Normandy. The second river, the Rhone, is located in the south of France. See photos of Beaujolais and Cote du Rhone vineyards, medieval villages in Provence; the Pont Avignon, and Arles, where Van Gogh lived. The last part of the class takes us into the Loire Valley with its incredible fairytale -like castles.
