www.bulgariatravel.org pumpkin pie Pumpkin pie is a type of sweet banitsa with filling made of grated pumpkin, sugar and walnuts. It is prepared by dough sheets which are sold in stores in Bulgaria. Dough sheets are rolled out and dried thin sheets of dough. If you can not purchase them, you can use a similar product or roll sheets out yourself. The filling is prepared by grated pumpkin, sugar, cinnamon and fine crushed walnuts. Pumpkin pie is made in separate parts (rolls), which are then arranged in a round tray in the shape of a spiral. After baking, the pumpkin pie is served as a desert or breakfast. This type of banitsa is prepared most often during the Christmas holidays and in the winter months. 2
