The name Picpoul, literally translates as "Lip Stinger", referring to the grape's naturally bright acidity. A perfect match for seafood. 4. The flavours are delicate, fresh and refined. 8. Oxford Dry, Bothy Vineyard, Oxfordshire, 2015 32.00 This crisp local wine has a floral nose, yellow plums and greengage on the palate, crisp acidity and a long finish. Made by a small grower, which is unusual in the area, as most are sold through local co-operatives. 11. Flavours of peach, guava and honeydew are balanced by high acidity and a delightful freshness.

Jean-Marc Pillot s wines seem to possess everything - richness and depth of fruit, the classic firmness of a great Chassagne and a long, smooth and harmonious finish.

It has a velvety feel, a red berry aroma and hints of vanilla from the gentle oak seasoning. Fantastic! 32. Primitivo, Conviviale, Salento, Italy, 2015 29.00 Wonderfully rich and concentrated Primitivo, with silky plum, cherry and dried fig flavours, balanced with a sweet spiciness. 33. Soft and luscious on the palate, with strawberry, red cherry and vanilla flavours, with a touch of garrigue spice. 36. Cabernet /Shiraz, Fox Grove, South East Australia, 2015 24.00 Soft and juicy with brambly fruit, spice and blackcurrants. The palate is round and soft and has a good finish. 37. Rioja, Navajas Tinto, Spain, 2015 4.60 6.30 8.40 24.50 A small Bodega in Rioja whose quality is beyond question. 38. Chianti, Volpetto, DOCG, Italy, 2014 25.50 Well structured and full-bodied, lively and intense, this ruby red Chianti is full of fruit with a hint of spice. A great food wine. 39. Shiraz, Last Stand, McLaren Vale, Australia, 2016 26.50 Premium quality fruit and mature vines have produced a wine with great balance, length and fruit intensity. Dark cherry and plum dominate the nose with hints of spice and leather. 43. Les Forts du Moulin, Languedoc, France, 2015 28.50 A blend of Carignan grapes brings depth and full body and the Syrah grapes give wonderful spicy notes. The Grenache and Mourvèdre grapes give finesse and complexity. With spice and red berries, this wine is well-rounded with a good length. 44. Quinta de la Rosa, Tinto, Douro, Portugal, 2015 34.00 This excellent modern wine is made from the traditional local grape varieties of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz. It sends layers of ripe mulberries, damsons and raspberries coursing around your tongue. The mouth feel is fleshy, exuberant and balanced. 45. Cabernet Sauvignon, Los Vascos, Colchagua Valley, Chile, 2015 36.00 Domaine Barons de Rothschild-Lafite took over the Los Vascos estate in 1988 impressed by its location near to the ocean and its exceptional soil. Classic tobacco and blackcurrant abound in this wine. Wine with pedigree that is a joy to drink. 46. Rioja Reserva, Beronia, Spain, 2012 39.50 Top quality wine aged in American and French oak for 18 months. Intensely aromatic, harmonious and complex, with a smooth silky finish. CLASSIC REDS 47. Château de Bon Ami, Bordeaux, France, 2014 27.50 A forward nose of red berries, cherry and redcurrants. The palate is smooth and well balanced with darker fruit characters and subtle smokiness. 48. Fleurie, Les Florines, Jacques Charlet, France, 2014 35.50 Wonderful ripe raspberry and blackcurrant notes on the nose and soft, round and supple on the palate. Some smokiness and floral notes help to lift this wine well. 49. Côtes du Rhône, Roc Épine, Domaine Lafond, France, 2015 36.00 A smooth wine with aromas of ripe fruit, cherries, blackcurrants and undergrowth. The palate is smooth with wonderfully concentrated flavours of dark berries, leather and spice. A lovely bottle full of charm and roundness. 50. Château de Roques, Puisseguin St Emilion, France, 2014 42.00 Ripe dark fruits, dry wood smoke and soft earth lead to a finely structured palate with smooth, sweet tannins. Subtle compost notes sit under cherry, plum and blackcurrant fruits. 51. Savigny les Beaune, Vielles Vignes, Domaine Denis Carré, France, 2012 59.00 This Beaune comes from very old low-yielding vines growing in gravelly, stony soil with small areas of sand. The old vines produce extremely concentrated and deeply flavoured grapes. The harvest is 100% by hand, with small crates used to assure grapes arrive at the winery quickly and in the freshest and best condition. Superb! 52. Château Hannetot, Pessac-Léognan, Bordeaux, France, 2011 68.00 Purple to look at, the nose is intense and aromatic with both cherry and currant notes. The finish is well balanced with a subtle oak touch.
