English Wines Bolney Wine Estate One of the longest established English vineyards, located in Sussex, who have been making award winning English wines for over 35 years. They started producing white wines but decided to focus on red wines as there was a real potential for making quality lighter red wines similar in style to the best New Zealand Pinot Noirs. The sparkling English wines have been particularly successful, winning gold medals as people realise English sparkling wines are as good as, and sometimes even better than, the best Champagnes, which is hardly surprising given that Bolney follow the same traditional method as is used to produce Champagne. They also have sandstone soils which are perfect for growing vines. Still Wines Bolney Estate Lychgate White Wine 2014 22.90 A blend of Reichensteiner, Schonburger Bin 125 and Wurzer grapes with notes of elderflower, lychee and passion fruit. Off dry style. Bolney Estate Lychgate Red 2013 22.90 Made from Dornfelder and Rondo grapes, Bin 123 it has notes of plums and red berries with soft tannins. Sparkling Wines Bolney Bubbly NV 33.30 A simple, light and refreshing vintage sparkling wine, Bin 996 very easy to drink with a charming elderflower creaminess. Bolney Estate Rosé 2010 37.60 Seriously sophisticated, traditional method vintage Bin 778 sparkling wine. This wine has flavours of light cherry and toasty brioche. The smooth and full-bodied palate comes from 18 months lees ageing. Ridgeview Wine Estate Ridgeview was founded in 1994 by Mike and Chris Roberts and is dedicated to creating world class sparkling wines in the South Downs of England. The vineyards specialise in growing classic grape varieties to make the highest quality bottle fermented sparkling wines. The world class status of Ridgeview wines is reflected by the number of national and international medals and trophies they have received since the release of the first wines from their 1996 vintage. MERRET Ridgeview s trade mark MERRET is in honour of Englishman Christopher Merret. In 1662 he presented a paper to the Royal Society in London which documented the process of making traditional method sparkling wines. This was 30 years before the technique was documented in champagne. To celebrate Merret s achievements Ridgeview has kept a London connection when naming their range of wine. Sparkling Wines Cavendish 2010 38.60 Classic Champagne blend of all three varieties, Bin 920 dominated by the red fruits of the Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Complex and long lasting with exceptionally fine bubbles. Fitzrovia (Rosé) 2010 38.60 Unusual rosé made by a majority of Chardonnay Bin 932 grapes, adding freshness and finesse to the wine. Bubbles in abundance. Raspberry and redcurrant nose and fruit driven taste. Knightsbridge 2010 60.50 Blanc de Noirs blend, being made from only red Bin 934 grapes makes it a very distinctive wine with a rich complex palate and a mouth-watering freshness. Blanc de Blanc Magnum 2000 115.10 One of the best English sparkling wines, rare and Bin 935 mature. Complex and full flavoured finishing with fresh citrus. 5
