A WARM WELCOME FROM YOUR HOSTS Good food at a great price is what we want The Bell at Sax to be known for. Having moved from running Southwold pier and knowing this area, we hope our great value food combined with great cooking & fantastic local ingredients, will offer something different to the pricier posh places along the coast. We re creating the kind of place we look for when we eat out. A welcoming restaurant where you can relax & not break the bank. Most importantly it will be a flexible friend, somewhere special to celebrate & equally a midweek supper joint. And Upstairs we want our cosy bedrooms to offer comfortable accommodation and after a great nights sleep, we provide a hearty breakfast to start the day. Having had two successful award winning Suffolk restaurants before, I hope we can gain a similar following here and plan to invest in the business as quickly as we can. FOOD Much of Jonny s seasonal menu will change daily. Our hearty cooking might be described as Modern British, but put more simply, it will be the food we like to eat. So you can expect delights such as creamy smoked haddock & leek chowder or honey mustard-glazed Blythburgh Pork ribs to start; main courses of Suffolk hotpot of slow-braised local lamb shank and root vegetables or Red Poll rump steak burger with hand-cut chips; perhaps finishing with lemon curd meringue roulade or baked apple & plum crumble. With starters and desserts from under 5 and main courses from under 10 whenever we are open, cooked by one of Marco Pierre White s former sous chefs, it really should be swish dining at not-so-swish prices. BAR Whilst we are a restaurant-with-rooms, we do have a lovely well-stocked bar, with draught beers and cyder; Liberty of London s well-chosen wines and comfy sofas, a great place to meet before settling down in one of the dining rooms
PARTIES, WEDDINGS AND MEETINGS With two spacious dining rooms, we can easily accommodate up to 30 people seated for dinner parties, meetings or weddings and 50 standing for a drinks reception or finger/ fork buffets in each room. Treat your guests to our trademark Bell style for your special celebration or event. BEDROOMS With ten lovely rooms on our two floors upstairs, all very different and individually designed, they are full of character. Every bedroom is en-suite, all apart from one have a bath and overhead shower, one is just shower only. There are eight doubles, one four poster with a supersize bed and one twin to choose from. All of them offer tea & coffee making facilities as well as Freeview satellite TV. Our room rates also include your choice of our lovely cooked breakfast dishes as well as the cold buffet table on all B&B rates.
