CHRISTMAS 2015 A friendly welcome awaits you at the Bridge House. Step into our historic hotel festively decorated with garlands and baubles and warm yourselves by our crackling log fire. Unwind, relax and enjoy our traditional hospitality and the magic of Christmas. Our Executive chef Stephen Pielesz and his team will be creating truly sumptuous festive fayre taking inspiration from Yuletide recipes and locally produced ingredients. CHRISTMAS EVE 24th December Arrive anytime from 2pm, settle in to your room and gently ease your way into the start of the festivities with a traditional Dorset Cream tea with freshly baked scones & homemade jam. There s a crib service, five minutes walk away in Beaminster St Mary s Church at 4pm. A short drive takes you to the picturesque village of Netherbury and the church has a special children s service also at 4pm. Early evening at around 6.30pm join us in the bar for Prosecco Royale and canapés while enjoying the beautiful, spiritual sounds of the local carol singers gathered in the candle-lit bar. A memorable five course candle-lit dinner awaits in the Georgian panelled dining room. Then for those attending Midnight mass, enjoy a moonlight stroll to our Grade 1 listed, 15 th Century church. CHRISTMAS DAY 25th December The day begins with a splendid, Christmas, Dorset breakfast featuring eggs Benedict, smoked salmon and local scrambled eggs and bacon, Dorset Down mushrooms all accompanied by freshly baked BridgeHouse bread, jams & marmalades. There s a Christmas Day Eucharist service at 11am at St Mary s or relax with a book in front of the fire. From midday onwards, join us for a glass of champagne in the 13 th Century Medieval Bar & Lounge or around the fire on the outside terrace followed by the main event - a seven Course Christmas feast. The kitchen team pull out all the stops with the very finest Dorset produce. Free range turkeys, fish from Lyme Bay & local home grown vegetables. Relax and chat while enjoying a platter of local cheeses and homemade chutneys. Indulge in delicious liqueurs from the Lyme Bay Winery. Finish with coffee & Chef s Christmas cake in the lounge. Little is planned in the wake of lunch to laze, play games in the lounge or even take a light snooze. The Queen s speech is at 3pm. Come evening (7.30-8pm), mulled wine is served with a delicious cold buffet.

BOXING DAY 26th December A relaxed late breakfast can be taken from 8.30 to 10.30am. Then there s time to simply stretch the legs or explore our wonderful part of West Dorset. Explore West Bay, made famous by the Broadchurch series, or take a drive through countryside that inspired Hardy to write his classics. Maybe take an amble along the Brit Valley walk starting at the hotel across rolling hills and along the River Brit passing the original River Cottage on your way. Alternatively, take a short drive to Seatown near Charmouth and scale the cliff walks if you fancy a real calf stretcher. The views from Golden Cap England s tallest coastal cliff are extraordinary. Another wonderful walk is along the beach at Burton Bradstock and back over the cliffs through National Trust land. Whatever you decide to do we are sure you will build up an appetite ready to return to the Bridge House for champagne cocktails before we serve a five course candle-lit dinner. SUNDAY 27th December For those heading home, it s another of our famous breakfasts followed by fond farewells. But what could be better than to extend your stay and not have to stay goodbye.
