SWEET DELICACIES Superintendent: Rita Jones 575-760-0879 Refer to Home Arts General Rules ADULT FANCY CAKE A Fancy Cake is not a decorated cake as in piped icing decorations, etc. A Fancy Cake is a special cake with unusual recipe, special garnishes or frosting techniques (glaze, whipped cream, special frosting, etc.). A Fancy Cake would be served on a special occasion. Ideas for a Fancy Cake can be found in popular magazines such as Southern Living or websites such as Pinterest. Connie Moyers has a Pinterest board titled, Fancy Cakes. The recipes have not been tested by Connie, but you will find recipes and photos that explain the concept of a Fancy Cake. Entries may be made from scratch or use a cake mix as the base for a recipe. Entries will be judged on taste, appearance, creativity, and consumer appeal. Open to any Roosevelt County resident. Fancy cakes may be picked up on Tuesday, August 22 nd from 10 11 am. Only first, second, and third place will be displayed. Please bring cakes on cardboard or cake board. DO NOT bring cakes on glass plates. Additional Premiums paid in each division: First Place - $100; Second Place - $75; Third Place - $50 4000 - Adult Division Sponsored by: Pebsworth Insurance Todd & Robin Pebsworth JUNIOR FANCY CUPCAKES Cupcakes are very popular at this time, so it was decided to have a Fancy Cupcake Contest for the Junior Division instead of the Fancy Cake. Fancy Cupcakes are special recipes frosted with special garnishes or frosting techniques. Cupcakes are not decorated cupcakes as in piped icing decorations such as little flowers, stars, etc. Decorated cupcakes may be entered under the Decorated Delicacies Division and will be eligible for a Wilton Award. However it will be admissible to frost the entire cupcake using a special piping tip to swirl the icing on the cupcake. Each participant should bring 6 cupcakes on a plate for judging and display. Cupcakes will not be returned after judging. Ideas for Fancy Cupcakes can be found in popular magazines such as Southern Living or websites such as Pinterest. Connie Moyers has a Pinterest board titled: Fancy Cupcakes for recipes and photos that explain the concept of a Fancy Cupcake. 4001-Junior Division Sponsored by:thompson Family Dentistry, Peter L. Thompson, DDS

I Love My Pie Fancy Pie Contest Cakes are great, however, it s the pie that has woven its way into our American food culture, becoming a symbol of home, tradition, and plenty. Pies are the ultimate home-baked treat; the smell of a freshly baked pie cooling on the windowsill is etched in the memory of many Americans. Over the years, pie has evolved to become what it is today "the most traditional American dessert". Pie has become so much a part of American culture throughout the years, that we now commonly use the term "as American as apple pie." Entries may be made from scratch or a pre-made pie crust. Entries will be judged on taste, appearance, creativity and overall appeal. Open to any Roosevelt County resident. Fancy pies may be picked up on Tuesday August 22 nd from 10-11 am. Only first, second, and third place will be displayed. Please bring pie in metal pie tins. DO NOT bring pies in glass pie pans. Additional Premiums paid in each division: First Place - $100; Second Place - $75; Third Place - $50 Adult Division Sponsored by: New Mexico Bank and Trust, Debbie Lambirth, Branch Manager. 4002 Double Crust Fruit or Nut Pie 4003 Decorative Crust Fruit or Nut Pie 4003-Junior Division Sponsored by:designs by J Embroidery, Joanna Baker 4004 Double Crust Fruit or Nut Pie 4005 Decorative Crust Fruit or Nut Pie
