The Rothschild s started producing the world s finest wine when they purchased Château Mouton in 1853, followed by the acquisition of Château Lafite in 1868, two of the greatest châteaux in the world, and both remained in the same family ownership ever since. Very ripe, jammy, red berry fruit, spice and caramel aromas. 229 Aruma Malbec, Domaine Barons de Rothschild (lafite), Argentina A big 100% Malbec with fine velvety tannins and the freshness and elegance you would expect from a wine made by Lafite. 230 Baron Henri, AC Médoc A blend of wines from premier Médoc vineyards, this is a firm, dry wine, with good fruit flavours, matured in oak. Better value than many Château labelled wines. 233 Reserve Speciale, AC Pauillac, Domaine Barons de Rothschild (lafite Complex and intense, with aromas of tobacco and spices, silky tannins with a long finish. 234 Caro, Mendoza, Argentina Most definitely a rising star! Sumptuous with remarkable concentrations of flavours.
