Amateur beer makers are invited to enter their homebrew beers for an impartial panel of experts to judge in our Home Brew Beer Competition, sanctioned by the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP). Home Brew Beer Competition Who May Enter: The contest is open to all amateur beer makers 21 years of age and older from Santa Clara County and adjacent counties: Alameda, Monterey, San Benito, Stanislaus, Santa Cruz, San Joaquin and San Mateo How to Enter: 1. Register: Online: https://sclara.fairwire.com by Friday June 23, 2017 o Choose Adult Home Arts Department Complete paper entry form (must be postmarked by Wednesday June 21, 2017) Mail or deliver completed paper entries to: Home Brew Competition c/o Santa Clara County Fair 344 Tully Road San Jose, CA 95111 2. Please enter a description for each entry. Entries in styles 27-34 must have the base style specified and special ingredients identified. 3. Please specify intended drop off location 4. $5.00 per entry fee. You can pay online or make checks payable to: Santa Clara County Fair and include with your drop off at the Fairgrounds. Remote drop off locations do not accept payment. Multiple entries per class are permitted (each entry consists of three 12 oz. bottles in a six pack holder). o Due to the inconvenience of handling, no other bottles will be accepted. o NIP bottles (6 oz. -8 oz.) will be accepted in the strong ale, mead and barley wine categories. o One bottle will be used for preliminary round judging; another will be used for mini Best-of-Show judging for styles with multiple flights. The third bottle will be used for overall Best-of-Show judging.

The following information MUST appear on the provided bottle ID form: Name of exhibitor Phone number and E-mail address of exhibitor Beer style name including Division and Class Base style and special ingredients for styles 27-34 Please Note: Entries become property of the Fair and bottles will not be returned. Bottles lacking the required information on the bottle ID form will be disqualified. Bottles and caps must not contain information that identifies the brewer. Entry Deadline: Beer bottles with I.D. labels attached (with rubber bands only, no glue or tape) must be delivered to the Approved drop-off locations by close of business on Friday June 30, 2017 or at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds Admin Office on Saturday June 10, 2017 from 10am until Noon. Judging Criteria: The SCCF Homebrew Competition is using the 2015 BJCP Style Guidelines. See the BJCP web site at www.bjcp.org for judging criteria details. Awards: Best-of-Show will receive a Rosette and a $100 gift card. 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd place Rosettes will be awarded per category.
