Yogurt Parfaits 2 spoons of yogurt 1 spoon of Granola or cereal 2 spoons each of a fruit of your choice 2 spoons of yogurt Top with cereal Sprinkle Granola in the bottom of a dessert cup. Add a spoonful of yogurt. Add fruit and top with more yogurt. Sprinkle Granola on top. Colorful Toasted Bread - Monster Toast Fresh white bread; Milk; Food coloring Cookie cutters; Bowls; Paintbrushes; Toaster Oven What to do: 1. Pour milk into bowls. 2. Add food coloring 3. Cut bread with cookie cutters. 4. Paint bread with colored milk. 5. Toast painted bread in toaster, toaster oven, or on broil. 6. Eat & enjoy! Edible Art Several kinds of vegetables that are commonly eaten raw (pre-wash them) Toothpicks, the round kind, pointed at both ends Put together creations from sliced cucumbers, carrots (sliced large or whole baby), broccoli florets, cauliflower tops. Then, of course, eat your creations. Butter Whipping Cream, Marble, Small Plastic container Fill a small container with a lid ½ full with the heavy cream and a pinch of salt. Add a clean marble (makes the process go faster), cover the container and keep shaking it until the cream separates. Pour the liquid out and what's left is butter. Refrigerate and serve on crackers. Make up a silly song while shaking the cream, it helps to keep the children involved. Apple Mouths (old favorite) Red apples Peanut Butter Mini Marshmallows Slice any red apple into eight or more sections. Spread peanut butter on one side of two slices. Place one slice peanut butter side up on a plate. Place the mini marshmallow "teeth" in the peanut butter, and top with the other slice, peanut butter side down.
Yummy Flower Pot 1 package (4 serving size) chocolate pudding 2 cups cold milk 1 8 oz. package of cream cheese 1 8 oz. container of thawed Cool Whip 2 small packages of Oreo cookies (crush and save 15 crushed cookies) Gummy worms 1 clean flower pot with no holes, or a plastic cup Make the pudding according to the box instructions. Add cream cheese and Cool Whip. Mix. Add cookie crumbs and mix. Pour the mixture into the flower pot and top with 15 crushed cookies. Refrigerate. Garnish with gummy worms. Flavored Popcorn Some quick options that you can use: melted chocolate, powdered ranch dressing, cinnamon and sugar, parmesan cheese. In addition there are some fun recipes that you might like to try: Raspberry Popcorn balls 1 cup light corn syrup 1 3 oz. Package raspberry gelatin 1 cup granulated sugar 6 quarts popped popcorn Stir together corn syrup and gelatin; stir in sugar. Cook over low heat until sugar is completely dissolved. Pour over popcorn, and form into balls. Store in covered container, or wrap individual balls in plastic wrap or foil. Easy Caramel Corn 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed 1/2 cup butter or margarine 30 large marshmallows Melt ingredients in a heavy saucepan over medium heat, stirring frequently to prevent scorching. Pour over popcorn until all popcorn is evenly coated. Form into balls. Wrap each ball in plastic wrap. Cheese Popcorn 1 Package cheese from Kraft Macaroni and Cheese Add butter and heat until melted. Pour over popcorn and shake in a paper bag until all popcorn is coated.
Pudding Surprise Put 2 TBL of milk in a Small cup. Add 2 tsps of pudding mix. Add 3 drops of food coloring if using vanilla pudding. Stir for 2 minutes. Let it sit for 2 minutes. Instant Pudding (several colors and types) Fill clean baby food jar with cold milk. Place a teaspoon or so of instant pudding in the jar of milk. Put the cover on the jar, and shake with all your might. Magically it turns green and thickens. Get a spoon and eat your green surprise Ants on a Log (An old favorite) 1 stalk of celery for each child Raisins or chocolate chips Spread a stalk of celery with peanut butter. Cover with raisins or chocolate chips. Chicken Feed 1 baggie, 2 pretzels, 3 candy corn, 4 white chocolate chips, 5 marshmallows, 6 sunflower seeds, 7 fish crackers, 8 raisins 9 cheerios, 10 cocoa puffs Peanut Butter Play dough 3/4 cup Peanut butter 3/4 cup Karo Syrup 1 1/4 cup powdered sugar 1 1/4 cup flour Mix all ingredients together. Play with it, make shapes with it, cut it out with cookie cutters (on wax paper or clean surface with clean hands) and then eat your play dough. Bagel Ships Bagel, cut into 4 pieces Flavored cream cheese 1 Pretzel stick 1 slice of cheese, cut into a triangle Spread cream cheese on your bagel. Cut the cheese into a triangle (your sail). Stick some cream cheese on your pretzel so that the cheese will stick to it. Then stick your pretzel into the bagel (your ship).
Groovy Smoothies 1 cup juice 1 cup yogurt 1 cup ice 1 cup frozen fruit or fresh fruit May want to thin with some milk Blend together. Fruit Julius 1 c milk 1c water ¼ c sugar 6oz can frozen concentrate juice 6-8 ice cubes Combine ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Aggression Cookies 3 c oatmeal 1 ½ c Brown sugar 1 ½ c flour 1 ½ c butter 1 ½ tsp Baking powder Chocolate chips Dump all ingredients into a bowl and mix, mash, punch, smoosh the longer and harder you mix the better it tastes. Roll into balls and place on cookie sheet. 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Pancake Shapes Make pancake mix and create shapes on a griddle. Pretzels or Dough Creations Take pretzels or other dough (biscuit dough in the tube) and turn it into letters, shapes, pictures. Cook and eat. Ladybug jigglers Prepare red jello jigglers (combine 6oz pkg jello,with 1 ¼ c boiling water and completely dissolve. Pour into a 8x8 square pan) Sprinkle chocolate chips over the top. Let sit for 3 hours and then cut or use cookie cutters. May want to dip bottom of pan into warm water to loosen the jiggler.
Butterfly Bites 1 cerlery cut into 1/4ths 8 mini twisted pretzels 8 stick pretzels or strings of licorice Cream cheese Spread cream cheese down the middle of the cerlery slice. Stick the twisted pretzels in the cream cheese for wings. Place the stick pretzels in the front for anteannaes. Now fly. The sea snack Give each child a pretzel stick or celery (fishing rod), a paper plate with a dab of peanut butter or cheese spread and a handful of goldfish crackers. Have them dip the rod in the bait (peanut butter) and fish for the goldfish. When all the fish are gone, eat the rod and bait. Freeze o grahams Take 2 whole graham crackers and place yogurt, or flavored cream cheese in between them. Wrap with aluminum foil. Place in the freezer. Number Salad 1 handful cocnut 2 Tablspoons OJ concentrate 3 pieces orange 4 slices aple 5 cubes cheese 6 slices banana 7 pieces melon 8 grapes Stir 9 times and eat 10 big bites! Pretend Soup Place 2 cups orange juice in bowl. Add ½ c yogurt and 1 TBL honey. Add 2 tsp lemon juice. Whisk together. In a bowl place 5 slices banana and 2 TBL berries. Ladle soup over fruit and eat. Banana Pops Peel bananas and cut them in half. Dip the banana in orange or lemon juice. Roll in granola, corn flakes, chocolate, Insert a wooden stick in the center and serve or freeze. Watermelon (fruit) Pop Blend fruit and then put it in a cup with a stick to freeze.
Quesadillas 8 flour tortillas shredded cheese, refried beans, tomatoes Place toppings on tortilla, put another tortilla on top. Cook on both sides until brown HASTACK SPIDER LEGS Chinese noodles, melted choose any: butterscotch chips, white chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, or milk chocolate chips. Add noodles to melted chips and fold in. Plop little bits onto a wax paper covered pan and let set up. CARAMEL TURTLE CAKE In a microwave safe bowl, mix together ½ cup cake mix, 1/3 cup water, and ½ tsp powdered sugar. Cook for 90 seconds in the microwave. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and caramel sauce. Mix and eat. CANDY CLAY 1/3 cup maragarine 1/3 cup light corn syrup ½ tsp salt 1 tsp vanilla 1 pound box powdered sugar (may need more) Optional food coloring and flavoring Mix all ingredients together. It will be thick. Add food coloring a flavoring. Store in airtight container and keep refrigerated. This is edible and great for making designs. CATS EYE Layer a ritz cracker with peanut butter, banana slice, and a raisin MINI PIZZAS ON FRENCH BREAD SLICES, TORTILLAS, OR ENGLISH MUFFINS PRETZEL DOUGH SHAPES 1 ½ CUP warm water 3 cup flour 1 pkg yeast 1 tbl sugar 1 tsp salt 1 tbl vegetable oil Mix together and then shape. Place on a greased cookie sheet and cook on 425 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
FROZEN YOGURT POP Pour yogurt into paper cups. Cover with a plastic wrap and poke a stick through the plastic wrap. Freeze. RASPBERRY KISSES Spread a NILLA Wafer with cream cheese, and raspberry jam. Top with another vanilla wafer and sprinkle with 1 Tbsp powdered sugar. SPIDERS Spread peanut butter or cheese spread on one ritz cracker. Place six pretzel legs on the spread. Place another cracker on top. Using a small dab of peanut butter, glue raisin eyes on top. TRAFFIC LIGHT Spread 1 graham cracker sheet with peanut butter. Place an unpeeled apple slice red, green, and yellow on the peanut butter. RAINBOW 1 graham cracker sheet spread with marshmallow fluff for clouds. Cover with fruity pebbles cereal arranged like a rainbow. CINNAMON ROLL UPS Roll a slice of bread out thin with a rolling pin. Mix 8oz cream cheese with 1 egg yolk and ¼ c sugar. Spread on bread and roll up tight. Melt butter and brush on the roll then dip in a cinnamon sugar mixture. Bake at 400 degrees for 9-12 minutes. HALLOWEEN SOUP Mix together candy corn (vampire teeth), chocolate chips (spider eyes), mini marshmallows (cat noses), popcorn (ghosts), candy pumpkin SNOWMAN SOUP Mix together mini marshmallows, chocolate chips, pretzels, raisins, captain crunch cereal
