BIBLIOGRAPHY Charlotte Corneil* LOUISIANA LEGAL PUBLICATIONS: A SELECTED BIBLIOGRAPHY Law librarians are frequently asked what publications are available concerning a given topic. Requests for Louisiana legal publications are no exception, and this bibliography is designed in response to that need. The publications listed herein are those thought to be of value to the practicing bar and legal scholars. Individuals from outside of Louisiana may find this bibliography of particular use. The bibliography is divided into general subject categories. In most cases the title or subject division is sufficient to indicate the nature of the publication. Annotations were added where it was judged that further clarification or differentiation was needed. Although it would not be feasible or desirable to include all known publications, most publications have been included, particularly when they appear to update or supersede earlier publications on the same topic. Current periodicals are included as well as are newsletters and other less widely circulated periodicals which are often difficult to discover. Some titles, no longer available for purchase, are included because they are benchmark works, their omission would have been missed, and they often have no current substitute. Lexis and Westlaw data bases provide access to recent Louisiana appellate court decisions, and the major law reviews from the law schools and bar association are indexed in the Index to Legal Periodicals, the Current Law Index, and the Legal Resources Index. The Maritime Lawyer is indexed in the Current Law Index, and the Institute on Mineral Law and, the Tulane Tax Institute are indexed in the Index to Legal Periodicals. Certain works are not included in this bibliography. Works so dated as to be potentially misleading and periodicals which have ceased publication have been excluded. Also excluded are instructional materials from law schools and continuing education seminars. No audiovisual or other nonprint media publication is included, although Copyright 1983, by LOUISIANA LAW REVIEW. * Associate Librarian, Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Louisiana State University.

LOUISIANA LA W REVIEW [Vol. 43 these do exist in large quantity, usually produced at continuing education seminars. Louisiana has no legal encyclopedia or legal dictionary. The author would like to thank the editors of the Louisiana Law Review for the opportunity to be involved in their first publication of a bibliography of this type. I join in their hope that it will prove to be of value to the legal community. BIBLIOGRAPHIES Foote, Lucy B. Bibliography of the Official Publications of Louisiana, 1803-1934.
