Riesling 2014 Harvest :: 13th March 2013 ph :: 3.06 Acidity :: 6.9g/L RS :: 3.6 g/l Alc/vol :: 12.5% Vintage :: Coonawarra's 2014 vintage was longer than average with warm, dry days and cool nights. Ideal growing conditions produced Riesling fruit with intense flavour, freshness and distinct varietal character. Cellaring Potential :: While enjoyable in its youth, cellared properly, this Riesling will age gracefully for up to 12 years. Colour :: Pale straw with green hues. This ensured Riesling retained its fresh, natural acidity and vibrant flavours. This was one of the earliest vintages on record, with all varieties showing excellent varietal definition. Cellaring Potential :: Katnook Estate Riesling has a track record of cellaring for 8-12 years, developing wonderful toasty, lime characters. It is equally enjoyable as a younger wine. Harvest :: 24 th - 27 th February ph :: 3.01 Acidity :: 7.1g/L RS :: 2.9g/L Alc/vol :: 12.5% Vintage :: 2012 was an early vintage at the Katnook winery, commencing at the beginning of February. The warmer than normal growing season from October to April helped lead to the earlier ripening and ideal flavour development, which was aided by very little rain and no disease pressure during harvest. Cellaring Potential :: Our Katnook Estate Riesling wine will age gracefully for many years. Harvest :: 25th February to 2nd March ph :: 3.12 Acidity :: 5.9g/L RS :: 2.0g/L Alc/vol. :: 12.5% Vintage Conditions :: The 2010 vintage shows great promise, largely due to above average soil moisture levels, ideal growing conditions, minimal disease issues and above average summer temperatures prior to vintage. Due to this increase in temperature, ripening was accelerated and most varieties began harvest earlier than usual. Cellaring Potential :: This Coonawarra Riesling wine will age gracefully for many years. Food Matching :: This wine is delightful as an aperitif but will also beautifully accompany a fresh seafood platter or lightly pan-fried whiting served with a crisp green salad and chats potatoes. Harvest :: 13th to 23rd March ph :: 2.98 Acidity :: 7.4 g/l Alc/vol. :: 12.0% Vintage Conditions :: Although the 2009 summer was warmer than usual, the ideal ripening conditions of February and March produced above average quality across all varieties in the vineyard. The harvest of Riesling in mid March was a little earlier than expected. The grapes were in close to perfect condition and disease free, with near optimum ripeness and maturities. Cellaring Potential :: This Coonawarra Riesling will age gracefully for many years. Food Matching :: This wine is delightful as an aperitif but will also beautifully accompany a fresh seafood and sashimi platter or lightly pan-fried whiting served with a crisp green salad and chats potatoes. Colour :: Lovely pale straw yellow with light green tinges. Nose :: Restrained florals with hints of perfumed talc combine pleasingly with elegant citrus flower aromas and the subtle underlying spice notes of cinnamon, light musk and cloves. Palate :: A fresh and zesty array of floral fruits with hints of quince, citrus and light limes notes and faint spice.
