We will again be opening early on Saturdays for Hawkeye games and will be open Sunday's for NFL Football, so be sure to stop up, cheer on your favorite teams, and try some of our food and new beers at the bar. Events for September/ October Please consider helping with our food events. We need help preparing, cooking and serving food and clean-up. Sign-up sheets are in the Bar. Optimist Flags September 4 Labor Day Volunteers are needed on Saturday, September 2 at 6:30 AM to put the large flags up around the Asbury Community. Volunteers are again needed on Monday September 4, at 5:30 PM to take the flags down. Please report to the Asbury Eagles Club Burger Nights September 6 Angel of Hope September 21 Hempstead Band October 5 CAPABLE October 19 Hempstead Band Burger Nights includes a burger with your choice of toppings, a brat or a hot dog, French fries, salad bar, baked beans and a dessert. Cost Adults $8.00, Kids 10 and Under $5.00 Pizza Nights September 14 October 12 Large Pizza- $13.00, Large pizza with 4 or more toppings,$15.00, Small pizza-$8.00, small pizza with 4 or more toppings, $9.00. $1.00 is added to all carry-outs. Call 563 588 4458. Toppings include: beef, sausage, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, onions, mushrooms, green/black olives, green peppers, and sauerkraut. All pizza nights benefit club activities. Chicken Night October 26 Dinners includes: 4 pieces of chicken, baked potato, corn, salad bar, roll and butter and a dessert. Cost - $11.00, 2 piece chicken dinner - $9.00. All white or all dark meat $1.00 extra. Profits benefit the Make a Wish Foundation. Asbury Eagles Club 2

Cost: Adults-$8.00, Kids 10 and under $4.00 Asbury Eagles Club Blood Drive October 2 4-7 PM The Asbury Eagles Club will be hosting a Blood Drive. Please contact Shirley Ready at 581 4286 to schedule your appointment. Remember- 1.Bring your picture ID, 2. 56 days must have passed since your last donation or 112 days since your last double red cell donation 3. Eat a nutritious meal and drink plenty of liquids at least 4 hours before donation. Chili Cook Off and Vendor Fair October 21 12-4 PM Iowa Hawkeye vs. Northwestern The Asbury Eagles Auxiliary will sponsor a Chili Cook-Off/Vendor Fair Participants in the Chili Cook-Off, must bring their entry to the Club in a roaster or Crockpot, hot and ready for sampling. Cost - $5.00 to sample all entries. Vote for your favorite Chili by 3:30 PM. Winners announced at 4:00 PM. Winners will be awarded Eagle Bucks. More details to come closer to the event. Catering Function Volunteers Needed Please sign-up at the club if you are interested in helping with upcoming banquet functions. We need help bartending (must be club qualified to bartend) Banquet room on the hall side will be available for renting. Rates are based on whether the person renting it is an Asbury Eagles Club member or not. Rooms must be cleaned up after event by renting group. Cheryl Neyens has returned as Banquet Coordinator Contact her at 563 543 3866 for more information or for booking the rooms. Remember to book your party soon! We are booking up quickly! The Asbury Eagles Club is a great place for Holiday, Graduation, Anniversary, Birthday parties, Baby, Wedding Showers and Receptions, Retirement parties, Family Reunions. Ad Space Available If you are interested in placing your ad in the Asbury Eagles Club newsletter, please contact Pat Ready Sr. at prsr@mchsi.com. Ads are renewable every January Direct TV Package? TV Giveaway Again this year, we will have the Direct TV NFL package, so stop in and watch your favorite team begin their march to the Super Bowl. There will be food to purchase. Again this year, we will be giving away a prize at the end of the football season. To be eligible, you need to buy any beverage during the SUNDAY ONLY NFL games. Ten names will be drawn every Tuesday and posted on the white board at the Club. Come and join us on Sunday and cheer for your favorite team! 4

News from the Joint - If you have not paid for your Aerie or Auxiliary dues, please do so ASAP. The Asbury Eagles Club will be open on Sundays during the NFL games starting September 10. We have the Direct TV NFL package. Come and join your friends and neighbors and watch your favorite NFL teams on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays. and enjoy your favorite cold beverage. There will be a Chili Cook Off and Vendor Show on October 21. All vendor tables must be paid for By September 1. Sign up sheets are going up to volunteer for food events. Auxiliary News The next Auxiliary will be September 11 because of the Labor Day Holiday. Auxiliary members packed the Care Packages for our deployed troops at our July 10 th meeting. They will be sent out very soon. Each package contained a picture of the Auxiliary and thanked the soldiers for their service. God speed to the troops and come home safely. It was announced at the meeting that there will be an Officer s Training on July 30 th at the Clinton Eagles Club in Clinton Iowa at 9 AM and will last 3-4 hours. All officers were welcomed to attend. Again this year, the Auxiliary will be hosting a Chili Cook Off and Vendor Fair on October 21 from 12-4 PM. Profits from the Chili Cook Off and Vendor Fair will be split between the Donna Ginter Thanksgiving Dinner and the St. Vincent Food Bank..
