We trust that we can be of service to you again in 2018. We should have a volume of fall-dug plants in storage, and the remainder will be harvested in early spring as dormant stock. Our plants have been grown from foundation stock, under very careful supervision, in soil fumigated at sterile rate. These plants have been inspected throughout the growing season by officials of Perennia and the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture. The plants will bear a blue inspection tag issued by the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture. We recommend ordering plants as soon as possible to reserve the varieties you want to plant. Orders are reserved on first-come, first-served basis. All prices include packaging for shipping. Plants are available in April, May and early June. Note that we will not hold orders after May 31, 2018, unless they are paid in full in advance. We recommend planting as early as possible in your area, before hot and dry weather sets in. We pack our strawberry plants in bundles of 26, allowing 4% extra to cover any errors in packing. There will be a variation in plant size, but our experience proves that smaller plants will grow as well as large ones, if planted and cared for properly. If you are picking up plants at our farm, be sure to bring something to cover them, to protect cold-stored plants from the sun. DO NOT plant frozen plants. They must be thawed out prior to planting. We recommend holding them in a cool area away from direct sunlight, until completely thawed, before planting. We do not recommend herbicide use in home gardens. A LOT OF TENDER LOVING CARE WILL YIELD THE BEST RESULTS.
