Starter Kit Everything you ll need to hold your own tea for tribes party.

Dear Friend, Thank you so much for supporting Survival s work through tea for tribes. Tea for tribes is a simple and fun way to raise money for threatened tribal peoples. Whether you decide to hold a small event just for friends and colleagues or a bigger event for your entire neighbourhood, the opportunities are endless. All you need to do is pick a date, choose a location and ask your guests to donate in return for your hospitality. Whether you raise 25 or 250, your event will allow us to continue our work for generations to come. Thank you for your support. Sincerely, Stephen Corry Director

Tribal peoples Tea for tribes is all about having fun but there is a serious reason for doing it Wherever they are in the world, tribal peoples are deprived of their livelihoods and way of life; driven from their land by mining, logging or settlers; flooded by dams or forcibly relocated in order to make way for cattle ranches, biofuels or conservation projects. Such abuse is often justified by the claim that tribal peoples are somehow primitive or backward. Survival is working towards a world in which tribal peoples diverse ways of life are understood and accepted, oppression of them is not tolerated and they are free to live their own ways of life on their own land in peace, freedom, and security. We wouldn t be able to help tribal peoples without the people who support us. Survival has always relied on donations many of them modest from lots of generous people who look beyond their own backyard, and see that humankind s diversity is priceless and vital for all our futures. Fundraising events like tea for tribes are crucial to our continued existence in these challenging economic times. Please raise your cup in support of tribal peoples!

What s in this pack The key to a great party, and successful fundraising, is to enjoy yourself! Invites and posters. Use our paper invitations or invite friends by email or facebook. If you re opening up your event to the public, use our poster to advertise your event in the local area. Top tips. Some ideas to help you get started! Please get in touch if there is anything we can help with: info@survivalinternational.org or 020 7687 8700. Donation form. Once your guests have had their fill, ask them to make a donation in return for your efforts. You might want to combine your event with a sale or competition to raise extra money.

Come to my tea for tribes event and help raise vital funds for threatened tribal peoples. Please RSVP using the details below:

Make your tea special Drink tea and change the world! Anytime, anywhere. You can hold tea for tribes anywhere you like; work, home, school, local club, community centre, church. It doesn t have to be indoors; why not under the stars, or at the top of your favourite mountain! You can also run tea for tribes as part of an existing event such as a summer fete, or even your birthday. There s also Human Rights Day to celebrate on the 10 th of December. Get creative. Try a sophisticated tea party with cucumber and salmon sandwiches in a marquee or a 50s style tea dance in your village hall. Or maybe a tea tasting challenge in your back garden - black tea, oolong tea, green tea or white tea can you tell the difference!? Put on your apron and whip up some tasty treats for your guests to enjoy with their tea. If you haven t got the time, simply nip into your favourite shop and buy some goodies to share. You could also ask your local bakery to donate a cake or two! With your teapot drained ask your guests to make a donation to Survival. We suggest a donation of 3-5 per person, but every penny counts! Get collecting. Thank your guests and let them know what a difference their money will make to Survival. We d be happy to send you literature for display at your event. Inspire others to take part. We d love to share your story with other Survival supporters. Please send details of your event and photos to: info@survivalinternational.org If you re not a tea drinker then why not substitute tea for your favourite drink whether its coffee, hot chocolate, fruit smoothies, G&Ts, or long island iced teas!
