How to host a Garvan High Tea Thank you for choosing to host a High Tea in the month of September to raise money for medical research at the Garvan. Not only are you making a real difference towards the treatment and prevention of disease, a High Tea with friends is a wonderful and memorable experience. Register to host your High Tea 2. Host you High Tea 3. Collect your donations on the day 4. Send your donations to Garvan 1. Registering your High Tea Enclosed in this pack is a Garvan High Tea Host Registration Form. Please fill this in and return it to Garvan Research Foundation Reply Paid 68593 Darlinghurst NSW 2010 (no stamp required). 2. Hosting your High Tea Once you have decided on a date for your High Tea, you can email and/or post invitations to your friends and family. In this pack you will find Invitations that you can post to your friends. If you need additional invitations, you can photocopy the invites or give us a call and we will send you some more. On the invite, you can indicate the donation you would like your guests to make. You can either set a standard amount for the guest to attend your High Tea or allow your guests to make their own donation. As a guide, High Teas commonly cost between $35 and $100 per person. We recommend that invitations are sent at least 4 weeks prior to your event, with an RSVP date set for 2 weeks prior to your event. You can hold you High Tea on any date in September, 2011. Leading up to the event, email and/or contact your guests to confirm their attendance.
Traditionally, High Teas use a three-tiered platter, with pastries on the bottom tray, savoury sandwiches in the middle, and scones on the top. However, arranging your offerings on lovely display plates works just as well. If you would like more tips on how to enjoy your High Tea in a traditional manner, further information is included in this pack. 3. Collecting donations on the day In this pack you will find a Garvan High Tea Host Collection Form. Using this form, you can choose to send in your donations in a number of ways. You may choose to make a payment or part payment through your credit card. If you would prefer to deposit cash, you can deposit it into the Garvan Research Foundation account. Alternatively, you can post us a cheque. You will find all the details on the Garvan High Tea Host Collection Form. If guests would prefer to pay by cheque or credit card, please use the Garvan High Tea Donation Form. For cash donations, please use the Garvan High Tea Cash Donation Form. Both forms are included in this pack. You or your guests can return your Donation Forms to Garvan Research Foundation Reply Paid 68593 Darlinghurst NSW 2010 (no stamp required). After your event don t forget to email and/or post thank you notes to guests and supporters. Remind them what a wonderful contribution they have made to medical research by donating to your High Tea.
