A warm welcome Christmas is my favourite time of year and always takes me back to my childhood. As General Manager of the White Lion Hotel I am very excited to be able to share the special day with my hotel guests. Tis the season Remember the anticipation you felt as a child. The excitement of the festivities to come and the wonder of what lies beneath the wrapping paper. Christmas starts at the White Lion as soon as you arrive, as you enjoy a welcome warming drink under the glow of twinkling fairy lights on the tree. Wake from a restful sleep in one of our comfortable, modern bedrooms with the realisation that Christmas morning has finally arrived. Your day will be filled with gifts and laughter, and with the gentle jingle of Christmas carols in the background, a deliciously festive lunch is served in our bar and brasserie. We also love a good party here at the White Lion. Experience a Christmas party like no other as we lead you on to the dance floor, playing all your party favourites. I am very excited to be welcoming back The Fab Beatles, the UK's No.1 Beatles tribute band. This year we will also be joined by pop sensation Tribute act Elton John for two nights only in December and I can assure you it will be a night you and your guests will be talking about for years to come! Christmas Break Christmas starts at the White Lion as soon as you arrive on the Suffolk coast. Our three night Christmas break in Aldeburgh will be full of laughter, great food and unbeatable sea views from 24th - 27th December 2014. Festive Breaks Arrive from 2.00pm and indulge in an afternoon tea served in the comfort of our lounge. We start the evening off at 5pm with a 2 minute walk to Aldeburgh Cinema where you will enjoy a short festive film, followed by canapés, carol singers, mulled Aspall cider and mince pies in the foyer before you return back to the hotel. From 7.30pm you will sit down to a sumptuous 5-course dinner served in the splendid Victorian-themed James Cable Room. After dinner, enter into the house party spirit and dance to our live guest band until Midnight. Midnight Mass will be celebrated at the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, five minutes walk from the hotel. Return for a hot beverage or night cap served in the Bar. Wake from a restful sleep in one of our comfortable, modern bedrooms with the realisation that Christmas morning has finally arrived. Your day will be filled with gifts and festive spirit with the gentle jingle of Christmas carols in the background all leading up to a deliciously festive 7 course lunch. On Boxing day a late breakfast is served in the Brasserie from 8-10am. Why not join General Manager Peter Osborne, and fellow dare devils before lunch as they brave the freezing North Sea to raise money for charity at 11am or relax and take a stroll on the beach followed by a delicious 3 course lunch at The White Lion from 12.00pm. Boxing day night will be an informal evening of fantastic food and entertainment from our pianist in the relaxed setting of our Bar & Brasserie. Dinner this evening is your choice from our Bar & Brasserie menu. Thursday 27th morning we say goodbye to our guests after a scrumptious Suffolk breakfast from 8-10am and for those guests staying on come and enjoy dinner this evening in the relaxed setting of our Bar and Brasserie. Prices start from 535pp based on Explorer rooms, seaviews available at a supplement.
