A Special Thank You to Our Sponsors It is our pleasure to recognize each of the following sponsors without whom we would not have been able to pull everything together. Please join with us in extending thanks to each of the following individuals and organizations: PLATINUM LEVEL The ISGA would like to thank Liz Reilley and everyone at Jonathan s Sprouts for all of their work with the convention arrangements and her support as host of this year s convention. Bob and Barbara Sanderson, both former Presidents of the ISGA, have long been committed to working together with other sprout growers to create more sales and better quality sprouts for all growers. With this commitment, in 1980, they contacted the other New England sprout growers to contribute to a grant to the University of Massachusetts to support the work of Dr. Rob Wick in studying the plant pathogens that were undermining the quality of the sprouts and find ways to improve sprout quality and shelf life. In 1984 they founded the New England Sprout Growers Assn. with these same growers to take advantage of Federal-State Marketing Program grants and create a collaborative sprout marketing program. Wanting more financial power for promoting sprouts, the NE Sunsprout growers approached the US and Canadian Sunsprout Growers, who agreed to join forces in starting the International Sprout Growers Association in 1989. One Sanderson from Jonathan Sprouts has been on the BOD from the beginning, and actively working with other sprout growers to make the industry strong, increase consumption of sprouts, gather knowledge of best safety and quality practices and relax and enjoy the companionship and experience of other growers, and experts in related fields. Bob, Barbara, Rich and Liz are pleased to have the opportunity to be with everyone on Cape Cod this Spring and thank all of you for making the effort to join us in this networking and learning experience.

MISSION Eatmore Sprouts & Greens Ltd. provides fresh, locally grown, certified organic sprouts and greens year round in the Comox Valley and beyond for a happier healthier planet. Company Overview Eatmore Sprouts & Greens Ltd. is a Certified Organic Farm producing a variety of sprouts, greens and vegetables on 3.75 acres near Courtenay, BC. Our sprouted products are sold through restaurants, grocery stores and wholesale distributors throughout Western Canada. Sprout products include: Alfalfa, Deli, Garlic, Clover, Broccoli, Sunflower Greens, Microgreens and Pea Shoots. Sprouts are produced in an indoor growing facility and greenhouse buildings. We produce 9,000-10,000 pounds of sprouts and greens weekly, year round! Eatmore Sprouts & Greens Ltd. was established in 1975. Carmen and Glenn Wakeling the current owners, have been involved in the company for over 30 years. Eatmore Sprouts employs 40 people who work hard every day to bring our products to you. Organic Certification is important to us as this gives you the assurance that the foods we produce are grown using the best practices to support a healthy planet. Food safety is a big part of what we do. We have a vigorous food safety system which includes a multifaceted testing, cleaning and training program. We are a HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) certified facility. Eatmore Sprouts has many environmental initiatives under way: Organic Certification Powered by: Bullfrog power. (Wind power sold into the grid for all the electricity we use and renewable natural gas) We have 48 solar panels Our greenhouses are heated with Hot water heat that is created using a wood gasification boiler called a Garn All the heat from our processing waste water is harvested and by using a heat pump system we heat our buildings Rammed earth heat sink technology: The most recent greenhouse we built was designed based on mass heat storage. The beds store both heat from the boiler and from natural solar gain during the day and this heat radiates out during cold damp nights here in BC. Canadian Organic Seed supply: We buy all our seeds from a Canadian Organic supplier. The majority of the seeds are produced on Canadian soil! We believe that sprouts and greens are an important part of a local and diverse diet supporting health and local economy one community at a time. Please enjoy our sprouts and greens, we sure do!

The ISGA would like to thank Corey Caudill and Caudill Seed for their continued support of our conventions
