Scanomat TopBrewer Daily Cleaning You will need 1x TopBrewer Long Handled Brew Unit Brush 1x TopBrewer Small Foamer Head Brushes 1x TopBrewer Cleaning Tablet 1x Bowl of clean warm water, damp cloth & dry cloth 1. Open the door of the machine and turn off the TopBrewer using the on/ off button behind the door in the upper left corner. 2. Remove the milk foamer by twisting the metal head anti-clockwise. Slide it following the black casing. Unscrew the white foaming head. Clean in warm water using the milk brushes to ensure all milk deposits are removed. Dry & reattach. 3. Pull the scraper out and brush around the top of the brew unit, using the long handled brush in order to remove any ground coffee deposits 4. Thoroughly wipe underneath the piston cleaning the metal filter and wipe all around the piston cleaning the O-ring & the O-ring grove, to remove deposits of coffee. This prolongues the life of your coffee brewer. 5. Clean the top plate using the wet cloth, with focus on cleaning the metal mesh on the bottom piston. Finally wipe the underside as well as the indside of the scraper arm. 6. The stainless steel cylinder top must be completely clean with no coffee remains. Push the scraper arm back in place. 7. Remove the grounds bin, empty dregs and rinse to clean. Dry before putting back into position. 8. Place a TopBrewer cleaning tablet into the scraper. Close the brew chamber door.
Scanomat TopBrewer Daily Cleaning 9. Open fridge & remove milk bottles. Place milk lines into an empty mug. Turn back on the TopBrewer 10. Lower the TopBrewer swan neck to its lowest position and press and hold CLEAN whilst pressing the YES button. Clean will appear on the screen. The process will take approximately 1 minute and FINISHED will appear on the screen once completed. 11. Open fridge and remove mug which will have some cleaning water in it. Wipe the inside of the fridge with a damp cloth and replace with fresh milk (1 milk line per bottle, all bottles much contain equal amount of milk) 12. Remove lid(s) from bean hopper(s) and wipe with a damp cloth prior to filling with beans. (Fresh TopBrewer beans have a great flavour, therefore do not overfill the hoppers to allow bean to always stay their best store unused beans in a sealed bag somewhere cool) 13. Prior to use, prime the TopBrewer by dispensing one warm milk and one espresso.
Scanomat TopBrewer Weekly Cleaning Removal & Cleaning of top piston 3. Carefully squeeze the O-ringe using thumb and index fingers. Do not use any sharp tools. Clean it as well as the O-ring groove. If it is worn out, it must be replaced. Contact your Scanomat service partner for a visit. Alternatively the entire piston can be left in milk-cleaning solution overnight. Finish by cleaning with a brush around the O-ring if needed. 1. Switch the machine off. Pull the piston clip while holding the piston with the other hand. Slowly remove the piston taking notice of the two concave washers. 2. Detach the clear outlet tube by pressing the white ring around the tube. 4. Fit the O-ring onto the piston and in opposite order reattach the piston to the brewing unit. Make sure the two concave washers (like shown) are fitted correctly. 5. Make sure the pin is fitted correctly by testing the piston is securely fitted to the axle. Test by dispensing a coffee.
Scanomat TopBrewer Weekly Cleaning Milk clean 1. Fill a mug/container with 300 ml of hot water and dilute 15 ml of cleaning solution in the water. Place milk lines into mug/container. 2. Lower the TopBrewer swan neck to its lowest position. 3. Enter the menu by pressing the down arrow. Find and select Milk Clean. Press Yes 4. The display reads Detergent. Press Yes to accept which prompts the cleaning cycle to start. 5. When the cycle is done the display will read Fill Water. Remove the mug/ container, empty contents if needed, rinse and fill with water. 6. Press Yes once again and the cycle continues. Once finished, remove mug/container.
Scanomat TopBrewer Troubleshooting A) Door Open appears on screen ~ close the brew chamber hatch correctly B) Flashing Thermometer appears on screen ~ TopBrewer is heating to operating temperature, when the thermometer disappears the TopBrewer is ready to use C) Steamer Cold appears on screen ~ TopBrewer has not reached operating temperature, wait approx 20 seconds & retry. You can also press on the over heat switch on either the back of the machine or the back of the brew unit. D) Black tap appears on screen If flashing this means the TopBrewer is filling with water. If permanently on - the TopBrewer has problems with filling water, check if the water supply is not effected. **If you are unsure on any item please call/e mail your Scanomat Certified Partnercontact to place a service call E) Dregs Bin Missing appears on screen ~ either the bin is not in the correct position, flush in base of brew unit. Check the dreg bin has been placed back after cleaning. F) All buttons are no longer illuminated ~ this occurs when the TopBrewer has not yet reached operating temperature, when this is achieved all buttons will illuminate. The machine is now ready to use G) Any Error Messages appear ~ press STOP (touch panel) or RESET (ipad) to reset the TopBrewer. Switch the Top- Brewer off, wait for 5 sec. and then switch on again. **Please remember to order your TopBrewer Cleaning Tablets packed in 12x10`s in plenty of time to ensure the daily cleaning process is not effected & to avoid invalidating your warranty/service agreement
