How to prevent and treat malaria and help AIDS patients with Artemisia annua anamed Part 2 anamed international e.v. Action for Natural Medicine Winnenden, Germany www.anamed.net

Everyone can grow Artemisia annua anamed! Where to get Artemisia? At anamed Musoma: Philip Mateja anamedbndp@gmail.com 2/81

Take cuttings every month from the healthiest plants. Since this is a hybrid plant, it cannot be propagated by seeds from the hybrid plant! Otherwise, the content of antimalarial agents decreases very much! www.anamed.net 3/81

Or propagate this way www.anamed.net 4/81

anamed partners become experts in taking cuttings! This way www.anamed.net 5/81

or this way www.anamed.net 6/81

Transplant seedlings into a mixture of good earth, sand and compost www.anamed.net 7/81

When the plants are about 15 cm high, plant them in the field www.anamed.net 8/81

Make a big hole big enough (at least 50cm x 50 cm x 50 cm) for a jerry can! The young plant needs soft soil like sweet potatoes! www.anamed.net 9/81

Fill again with soil, compost and loose organic material, water the hole and plant www.anamed.net 10/81

Water again, mulch and protect www.anamed.net 11/81

Plant near your home www.anamed.net 12/81

Fill your field, like here Keep in mind: In the dry season, each Artemisia plant needs about one litre of water per day! www.anamed.net 13/81

You can intercrop Artemisia with a crop that increases soil fertility Artemisia with cabbages www.anamed.net 14/81

Harvest and dry in the shade You can only dry finely chopped fresh leaves in the dry season! In the rainy season, the leaves will wilt and get mouldy! Finely chop the fresh leaves (without stems) and spread them, e.g. on banana leaves at the floor, so that they dry within three days and do not wilt. If they wilt, they are spoiled! (Then the antimalarial substances have already started to decay.) In the rainy season, when you cannot dry the leaves, you have to prepare the tea using fresh leaves, see below. www.anamed.net 15/81

Pound, sieve, pack and label www.anamed.net 16/81

Dosage of Artemisia annuatea to cure malaria An infusion of 5 g (4 heaped tea spoons full) of dried leaves in one litre of boiling water. Allow to stand for 20 minutes before you sieve the leaves off! Drink in the course of the day. Take for seven to ten days even if you feel better after one day. However, pregnant women should not take it in the first 3 months of pregnancy if there is an other effective treatment available! We have no information yet about possible side-effects. However, if there are e.g. no quinine tablets available, then give artemisia tea and possibly save the lives of the woman and the child. In addition she should drink 2 litres of lemon grass tea per day. In this case, please report to us your experience with artemisia tea afterwards. www.anamed.net 17/81

Drink also 2 litres of lemon grass (mchaichai) tea per day to clean the body www.anamed.net 18/81

Dosages of dry leaves for children Weight of patient (kg) 5-6 7-10 and adults Age 2-3 months 4-11 months Artemisia tea taken orally...g leaves in..ml of water per day for 7 days 0.5g/100ml 1g/200ml 11-14 1-2 years 1.5g/300ml 15-18 3-4 2g/400ml 19-29 5-9 3g/600ml 30-39 10-11 3.5g/700ml 40-49 12-13 4g/800ml 50+ adults 5g/1000ml Hint: A heaped teaspoon of Artemisia leaves holds about 1.5g. www.anamed.net 19/81

Dosages of fresh leaves for children and adults This aplies, when you cannot dry the leaves during the rainy season. www.anamed.net 20/81

How to prepare and use the tea www.anamed.net 21/81

Self -reliance If only people knew! We need to teach many more families and health centres how to grow and use Artemisia. www.anamed.net 22/81

We know that Artemisia tea also. strengthens the immune system of AIDS patients - with amazing results! treats eye infections. treats bronchitis. treats haemorrhoids. assists in cancer treatment. www.anamed.net 23/81

Artemisia strengthens the immune system of AIDS patients! A 41 years old female AIDS patient in Musoma (Tanzania) said: After drinking Artemisia tea, I gained strength. Indeed, I still had diarrhea, but I was no longer so weak. I also got appetite again and was able to walk The changes occured fast. The sores which I had in my mouth and on my skin started to heal They have disappeared up to now. It took three months until I had gained full strenght I remember that I did not trust this tea initially, yet the Kaza Roho group encouraged me to drink this tea although it is very bitter Source: DIE EINFÜHRUNG DER HEILPFLANZE ARTEMISIA ANNUA L. IN TANSANIA: FOLGEN, HERAUSFORDERUNGEN UND LOKALE INNOVATIONSPROZESSE, Thesis, Caroline Meier zu Biesen, Berlin 2011, p. 234 www.anamed.net 24/81

Artemisia strengthens the immune system of AIDS patients! Dr. (med.) Feleshi (Tanzania) said: One of my female patients came from Mwanza. I asked a doctor, who is a good friend of mine, to take her CD4 count. It was 34. Then I gave her Artemisia and Moringa. I treated her for three months her syphilis and typhoid fever too [with plant medicine]. Then I sent her back to hospital to take the CD4 count again. Her CD4 count had climbed to 280! She felt good and all people were surprised. Source: DIE EINFÜHRUNG DER HEILPFLANZE ARTEMISIA ANNUA L. IN TANSANIA: FOLGEN, HERAUSFORDERUNGEN UND LOKALE INNOVATIONSPROZESSE, Thesis, Caroline Meier zu Biesen, Berlin 2011, p. 243 www.anamed.net 25/81

According to the literature, it also treats intestinal worm infestations and leishmaniasis. We are receiving many reports that it really does help cancer. We have even heard from two people that it has been effective with epilepsy. Please give us your feedback! 26/81

And, by the way, give artemisia stems to your chickens and rabbits! anamed partners tell us that Artemisia prevents coccidosis in chickens. A farmer in Germany arranged a big celebration, because none of his baby rabbits died!! www.anamed.net 27/81

In 2000, the WHO and the United Nations set Millennium Goals One goal is as follows: To have halted by 2015 and begun to reverse the incidence of malaria and other major diseases but this goal is far from being realised www.anamed.net 28/81

But, where anamed has run seminars today, this goal has already been achieved! 29/81
