Highlights from the Press 2015 WHITE WINES Meursault Premier Cru, Les Charmes 2015 [93] Wine Enthusiast This attractively named vineyard has produced an equally attractive wine. With its good mix of ripe fruits, acidity, nutmeg and spice from wood aging and a generous texture, it is an opulent wine although it still needs aging. Drink from 2021. [90] Vinous.com Bright yellow. A distinct step up in complexity and depth from the Roche de Bellene village Meursault, with its peach and hazelnut aromas complicated by spicy, vanillin oak and a floral element. Broad, easygoing and sweet, offering oily stone fruit and spice flavors and considerable early appeal. Has just enough acidity to maintain its balance. Finishes ripe and persistent. It s hard to imagine that this will ever shut down in the bottle, but I would not want to lose this wine in the cellar. September 2017 Meursault [91] Wine Enthusiast Smooth and rounded, this wine has spice from wood aging as well as rich white and yellow fruits. The wine is concentrated from lowyielding old vines as well as richly endowed with acidity and minerality. Drink from 2020. Puligny-Montrachet [91] Wine & Spirits This is so plump and ripe it reads as a New World chardonnay when it s first poured. Then it heads back to its homeland as it opens to rich scents of Epoisses. There s freshness here, so the wine feels saturated in flavor without being pushed or pushy. Give it time for that freshness to tether the ripe orange and golden chamomile flavors, and the Puligny side of the wine will come into focus. April 2018 [91] Wine Enthusiast This mineral, crisp wine offers concentrated acidity and lemon flavors. It is rounded, rich with yellow fruits and with a tight texture that will allow the wine to age. Produced from vines up to 62-years-old, it will be ready to drink from 2019. [91] Wine & Spirits This is so plump and ripe it reads as a New World chardonnay when it s first poured. April 2018 [89] Wine Spectator Though rich, a line of juicy acidity runs through this spicy white. Peach, apple, marzipan and orange zest flavors hold court, playing out on the chalky finish. Drink now through 2021. Web Only 2018 [87] Vinous.com Bright pale yellow. Very ripe aromas of peach, spices, flowers and menthol, with a touch of reduction. Supple, spicy wine with an almost exotic quality to its very ripe stone fruit flavors. A touch aggressive with alcohol in the middle palate but with some balancing sweetness. Finishes with a slightly bitter phenolic edge and decent length. September 2017

Highlights from the Press 2015 (page 2) Saint-Aubin 2015 [91] Wine Spectator Inviting aromas and flavors of baking spice and pastry give the more submerged notes of apple, peach and honey time to emerge as this white unfolds from start to finish. Opulent and heady, with a succulent finish. Drink now through 2021. [90] Wine & Spirits Best Buy In the context of contemporary Burgundy prices, this wine seems like a steal: Cool and racy, with tart apple flavors and a smoky hint of heady alcohol, this is an honest St-Aubin, not complex, but clean and a pleasure to drink. April 2018 A rich, fruity wine, this is rounded and ripe with white fruits. It shows a crisp edge and a touch of spice from oak aging. It will develop quickly to give an attractive wine from late 2018. Saint-Véran 2015 [87] Wine Spectator A ripe style, this exhibits peach, apricot and honey aromas and flavors. A hint of citrus peel chimes in on the finish. Drink now. Web Only 2018 Bourgogne Chardonnay 2015 Soft, creamy and full of ripe yellow fruits, this smooth, unctuous wine reflects the rich vintage. Its acidity fits well with this juicy fruitiness giving a balanced, easy wine that will be ready to drink from late 2018. Bellenos Cuvée Blanc (Coteaux Bourguignons) 2015 [87] Wine & Spirits Best Buy Simple, soft and creamy, this wine holds its freshness in notes of orange zest and chalk. It s a great buy as an everyday white Burgundy. (Now there s a concept!) For spring and summer drinking. April 2018 [85] Wine Enthusiast Produced from Chardonnay grown in the Beaujolais region, part of a greater Bourgogne appellation launched in 2012, this is a soft and fruity wine. It has a tang of lemon acidity, a creamy texture and a fresh, crisp aftertaste. Drink this easygoing wine now.

Highlights from the Press 2015 (page 3) RED WINES Corton Grand Cru 2015 Cellar Selection Vineyards on the hill of Corton are the source for this concentrated wine. The 30-year-old vines give density while also providing great fruit and juiciness. It is an impressive wine, richly endowed with black fruits and layers of dark tannins. Drink from 2025. [92] Burghound A brooding and taciturn nose speaks of very ripe black berry, plum and warm earth scents that are trimmed in a subtle spice nuances. There is excellent volume and concentration to the big-bodied, intense and overtly muscular flavors that possess a velvety mid-palate that contrasts with the markedly austere, backward and very much builtto-age finish. This is borderline old school as the rusticity isn t subtle yet it s not so pronounced as to make this tough or chewy. Patience definitely would be advised. Issue #69 (1st Quarter, 2018) Chambolle-Musigny [89] Wine Spectator Alluring floral, strawberry and wild cherry flavors are the hallmarks of this delicate red. Vivid, showing a lean side on the finish. Best from 2020 through 2029. Web Only 2018 [87] Burghound A very pretty, elegant and floral red cherry and currant-suffused nose leads to nicely intense and energetic medium weight flavors that offer good minerality though the tightly wound finish is both youthfully austere and mildly drying. This is certainly very pretty but the balance isn t what it could be and it s not clear that bottle age will necessarily manage to harmonize this. As such I would be inclined to drink this on the younger side. Issue #69 (1st Quarter, 2018) Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2015 [97] Wine Enthusiast From one of the series of grand vineyards that line the slope of Gevrey-Chambertin, this powerful and dense wine is packed with tannins as well as beautiful fruit. Its red fruit flavors are supported by a solid structured and concentrated tannins. Despite this power, the wine is stylish, striking a fine balance between structure and fruit. Drink from 2025. Clos De La Roche Grand Cru 2015 This grand cru in the village of Morey-Saint-Denis is grandiose, packed with tannins and fruit, powered by both acidity and swathes of rich black cherries. Both juicy and densely structured, it will be impressive as it ages. Drink from 2025.

Highlights from the Press 2015 (page 4) Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru, Champeaux 2015 This grand cru in the village of Morey-Saint-Denis is grandiose, packed with tannins and fruit, powered by both acidity and swathes of rich black cherries. Both juicy and densely structured, it will be impressive as it ages. Drink from 2025. [90] Burghound A notably ripe nose reflects soft notes of menthol and a hint of cough drop character along with ripe red cherry, cassis and earth. There is very good richness to the round yet intense and reasonably well-delineated medium weight flavors and the minerality is more evident on the moderately structured finish. While this could be enjoyed young, it should reward a decade or more of cellaring if desired. Issue #69 (1st Quarter, 2018) Gevrey-Chambertin [93] Wine Enthusiast The typical firm, tannic structure of a Gevrey-Chambertin is very present in this young wine. The tannins are balanced with the juicy red-berry fruits, crisp acidity and minerality. Together these elements make an impressively dense wine that will age well. Drink from 2022. [92] Wine Spectator An elegant style for Gevrey, displaying floral, cherry and raspberry flavors. Mineral and tobacco accents emerge, and this finishes with dusty tannins. Stays juicy and balanced throughout. Best from 2022 through 2035. [89] Burghound Best Buy A somber array of both red and dark berries flashes floral, spice and earth nuances. There is good vibrancy to the delicious, round and nicely detailed medium-bodied flavors that possess reasonably good density while delivering fine length on the solidly complex and persistent finish. This is really quite good and it should only get better with 6 to 8 years of bottle age. Issue #69 (1st Quarter, 2018) Nuits-Saint Georges Premier Cru, Aux Boudots 2015 A near-neighbor of Vosne-Romanée, this premier cru produces structured wines such as this. The tannins and weight derive from the rich fruit as well as the spicy, smoky wood aging. It has power, black fruits, serious tannins and great concentration. Drink from 2022. [91] Burghound Best Buy A reserved if not mute nose only grudgingly reveals its spice and earth-inflected aromas of very ripe poached plum, cassis and soft menthol nuances. There is good volume to the velvet-textured, round and delicious medium weight plus flavors that exude a discreet minerality on the impressively rich and sappy finish that is shaped by dusty and firm but largely buried tannins that should enable this slightly warm effort to age successfully for a very long time. Issue #69 (1st Quarter, 2018) Nuits-Saint-Georges [90] Wine Enthusiast This concentrated and richly structured wine has good acidity as well as firm, solid tannins that support the red currant and red cherry fruits. It also has a dry core that will allow the wine to age. Drink from 2022. [88] Wine Spectator Aromas and flavors of salted licorice and earth mark this broad, tactile red. Black cherry and plum notes follow up and the tannins leave a light burr on the finish. Best from 2020 through 2029. Web Only 2018

Highlights from the Press 2015 (page 5) [87] Wine Spectator Cherry and berry flavors are accented by cinnamon and smoke notes in this bright red. Firm and juicy, tightening up on the finish. Drink now through 2020. Web Only 2018 Savigny-Lès-Beaune [92] Wine Enthusiast Editors Choice While the 50-year old vines do bring concentration, they also deliver delicious swathes of ripe, juicy fruit. This is a ripe, black-cherry-flavored wine, strengthened by ta nins and with a crisp edge of acidity. Drink from 2020. [90] Wine Spectator This is very spicy, with vanilla, sandalwood and clove notes playing against currant, cherry and smoke flavors. Dusty tannins coat the mouth as this exits lazily on the finish. Best from 2020 through 2030. ROSÉ WINES Bellenos Cuvée Rosé of Gamay Noir (Coteaux Bourguignons) 2015 [86] Wine & Spirits A fresh and simple wine with scents of roses and pleasant green leafiness, this has enough acidity to chill for charcuterie. August 2016 Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru, Les Beaux Monts 2015 [95] Wine Enthusiast Cellar Selection This rich, sumptuous wine is both structured and generous. Bold red fruits give it weight, concentration and a good balance between acidity and ripe richness. It comes from a vineyard close to some of the greatest Burgundy grand crus, which explains the wine s structure and potential. Drink from 2022. Bourgogne Vieilles Vignes, Pinot Noir 2015 This soft and fruity wine brings out all the succulent red-fruit flavors of the vintage. Light on tannins, rich in juiciness, it is ready to drink.
