Olea Head and Neck DCE VPMC-14290A
Olea Head and Neck DCE: Overview Olea Head and Neck DCE provides the following: Automatic or manual background segmentation Automatic or manual arterial input function selection Motion Correction Two DCE Models - Tofts & Kermode or Extended Tofts Computation of qualitative dynamic curve maps: Wash-in - Initial up-slope of the concentration time curve Wash-out - Down-slope of the concentration time curve AUC - Area under the curve TME - Time to maximum enhancement Peak - Peak enhancement Computation of quantitative permeability maps: Ktrans- Rate constant for transfer of contrast agent from plasma to extravascular, extracellular space Kep - Rate constant for transfer of contrast agent from extravascular, extracellular space to plasma VP - Plasma volume VE - Fraction volume of extravascular, extracellular space 2
Olea Head and Neck DCE- Workflow The Steps: Open Vitrea software and select patient Launch the application In the Olea Application tab: Check the Manual Series identification box if needed In the workflow tab: Click on Head and Neck DCE Select the Permeability series Review Permeability curve as needed Add conventional sequences as needed Click on mono-slice analysis tab and perform ROI analysis Click on Step 3 (in Olea workflow tab) for export 3
Olea Head and Neck DCE- Select Study Launch Vitrea Left mouse click to select the patient. Select the Applications tab. Double left mouse click on Olea Sphere. 4
Olea Head and Neck DCE - Protocol Click on the Applications tab. Check the box for Manual Series identification. Tip: By checking the manual series identification box, it allows the user to pick which series to use. The program will learn and remember based on series descriptors. 5
Olea Head and Neck DCE - Protocol Click on the Workflows tab. Click Head & Neck (DCE analysis). 6
Olea Head and Neck DCE - Selecting Series Select the Permeability Series from the left column and move to the right column by clicking the arrow. After moving the series to the right column, click the check at the bottom of the page. Repeat for the Conventional sequences. Tip: If the series resides in the right column, verify they are correct and click the check mark. 7
Olea Head and Neck DCE - Tools To scroll through any of the data sets: click on the image and roll the middle mouse. To scroll through time on the permeability data, left mouse click on the slider bar and move left & right. To magnify an image, hold down the shift key and roll the middle mouse. To pan an image, hold down the left mouse. 8
Olea Head and Neck DCE - Analysis Click on the Mono slice analysis tab. 9
Olea Head and Neck DCE - Permeability. Move the mouse over the maps to make the corner tools active. When the image is active, options will appear in each corner of the image. 10
Olea Head and Neck DCE - Analysis Tools Key images, Link, Pan/Zoom, Automatic windowing. ROIs, arrows, rulers, Magic Wand, Bi-ruler and the Reference ROI. Axial, Sagittal and Coronal orientation options. Multiple ROI Templates, export overlays as DICOM. 11
Olea Head and Neck DCE - Midline To edit the Midline, zoom out, left click on midline. Drag or move the line or white boxes at the top or bottom.. Olea software will mirror ROIs when Midline is on. To turn off Midline left click on the Midline button. 12
Olea Head and Neck DCE - ROI Analysis Move the mouse over the maps to make the corner tools active. Select appropriate ROI tool and draw a ROI on the map of interest. 13
Olea Head and Neck DCE - Maps and Overlays Click on the drop down arrow above the image to change which map is displayed. Add a second image to the overlay by clicking on the drop down arrow below the image. Slider bar adjusts the transparency. Click on Step 3: Export when completed the analysis.
Olea Head and Neck DCE - Export and Overlays export all numerical values, To check the Sum up Array. To export images with ROI s and measurements, check the Key images. To export series and/or maps: click on the desired series to export. When finished check Save. Tip: click on the eye to view what will be exported. 15
