We have solid financials, our membership is growing, the docks are full and there are many fun events happening all the time it seems like. A big Thank You to Club management and prior Board and Committee Members for getting the Club to where it is today! At times the Club is doing too well lately, with the most popular dinner times, areas of the Club and recent events being 'fully committed' (hip new way of saying we are full). In response to this, you will notice a new expanded/improved East Lounge 'high top' area to accommodate more Dude Braselton casual and drop in dining members in the Lounge. We are also going to Commodore remove the requirement of jackets for men in the Main Dining Room starting in October (when jackets had been required for men, jackets encouraged year-round). The Main Dining Room has some of the best views and decor of the Club. If you haven't dined in the Main Dining Room lately it is a great option if your preferred time is not available in the Lounge. Labor Day weekend is the big event this month. On Labor Day afternoon at 4pm we have our annual cardboard boat races, which are always a lot of fun for everyone. Please see the Club website under Waterfront for official rules and details. Plan to come up for a great lunch and stay to cheer for the competitors. A great BBQ Buffet will follow! We, as a Board, are always working to make your Club better and we always appreciate your ideas or suggestions for any further improvements you would like to see. Rock On!! Dude Braselton, Commodore EGYC ART SHOW Get ready for the EGYC Art Show coming this fall! Mark your calendars for Sunday, October 22nd, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. The Art Show will be held in the Commodore and Trophy Rooms... If you would like to participate, please contact Chairwoman, Governor Carey Gleason at jcareygleason@aol.com or call the Club at 773-2600. In Memoriam Helga Ruth Lamb Dorothea Gatti A la Carte Dining Reservations Please go on-line to make reservations for a la carte dining to accommodate you with outstanding service. Friday nights are extremely busy Club and we will continue to try and accommodate all walk-ins. Members who make reservations will be accommodated first. We ask that you make your reservation for the time you will sit down and order. Please allow for ample time for cocktails beforehand when deciding on your reservation time. Club Function Cancellation Policy To cancel a reservation; please call the Club at least 72 hours before any special event or Club function to avoid being charged in full for the event. We appreciate your adherence to this policy so that we may budget and plan appropriately. Spray - 2 - September 2017 MLS 785985 $1,699,900 3012 Bellwind Cir, Rockledge, FL 32955 Live Lavishly! Upcoming Club Events... Greetings Dear Members & Guests, As the summer winds down, I'd like to bring your attention to some of the activities that have taken place Club. Robert Crissman General Manager First and foremost, our Summer Youth Program came to life in early June! Much credit for the success and growth goes to our SYP Director, Chris Rower. Chris brought her past EGYC experience and teaching experience to the program, and really elevated the quality. Kids and parents alike enjoyed the programing so much that during the final weeks, we had over 50 participants! Chris has agreed to return next year for even more fun! In the meantime we will be working on some other youth offerings for the balance of the year. Stay tuned! The Strictly Sailing Program was also a huge success. Special thanks to Phil Spletter who is really the one spearheading the rebirth of Junior Sailing in Brevard County. His leadership of the EGYC Program has become a "feeder" and vice versa, for the recently formed Space Coast Sailing Education Foundation. Supporting and assisting Phil were, Capt. Kenny, who runs "all things water", as well as member volunteers, Chris Mohrman and Jon Williams. For Mr. Williams, "volunteer" is an understatment. His dedication to the program includes, being here and on the water every day, donating a dinghy for on the water support, serving on the Board of the SCSEF, and, all the while serving as Rear Commodore of the FCYC. Wow! With all of our programing, it is truly important to focus on our youth, our future. New menus in both the and have been rolled out and mostly well received. We know you may have personal desires and or dietary restrictions Just let us know! With little exception, if we have the ingredients, we can make it for you! And as far as dietery needs go, also be sure to let us know. Chef Levent, Leigh, Elysee and Jonathon, along with the rest of the team, are here to serve!! Looking foward to a cool fall and football!! This summer, Camilla toured Europe and participated in the Summa Cum Laude International Youth Music Festival in Vienna, Austria, with the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra. The European tour included sightseeing, visits to several museums, palaces, and Mozart s house, as well as master classes University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, the largest institution of its kind in Austria and one of the largest in the world. The tour included eight concerts, multiple rehearsals, and master classes. "The month of September is always a joyful month where we return to a more structured schedule while hopefully retreating from the 100 degree Dog Days of Summer. The weather should remain beautiful, the ocean waters warm and the pace of summer chaos seems to fade with each passing day. For those still fortunate to have flexible schedules and a few days off here and there, remember that our waterfront activities remain available at a moment s notice. With the passing of Labor Day and our ever-entertaining Cardboard Boat Race, the Lifeguard schedule will be placed on the sidelines until further notice. This is a reminder to all that when visiting the Club during September, October and November, you will need to keep a personal eye on your children while continuing to enjoy your EGYC pool facilities. No Lifeguard will be on the stand as we move forward into our fall schedule. As related to our docks, our occupancy has reached a solid 94%, which has created multiple waiting lists for vessels in the 40 to 46 plus range as well as our ongoing wait list for vessels in the 50 plus range on our B dock facilities. Should any of our members be considering a vessel in the 32 to 38 ft range the time is now as the two or creatively three slips remaining are within this category. Please note that our dock layout is constantly evolving as slips are leased maximizing the Harbor Utilization policy, per our EGYC bylaws. So, should a request be made to shift your vessel from one location to another, it should not be taken personally, it is simply good harbor management for all. Looking forward with much anticipation to all the special events that revolve around the waterfront facilities throughout the fall season here at your Club. All the best: Capt. Kenny, Harbormaster Spray - 13 - September 2017

Mr. Bell talked about his Ministry called the Wings of Grace. Their mission is to reach out to troubled teens to help improve their decision-making skills through the teaching of aviation skills and science. Wings of Grace has three areas in its organization: Aviation, Housing, and Music. They use aeronautical decision making to teach "Pilot in Command" concepts such as total authority and total responsibility. They also use accident investigation principles to analyze poor and good judgement and apply these skills to real life situations. The Ministry also has acquired about 25 houses thy rent to raise money. The Teens work to help maintain these properties as a way to pay for flight school. Mr. Bell s wife is also involved in the ministry. She has a degree in music education and teaches piano, vocal, and songwriting to the Teens. Speaker 7/25/2017: Ed Baranowski, Selective Service Board Member, EGYC Member Ed gave a very interesting talk about the selective service. In 1980 President Carter reenacted Registration with President Bush reinstituting the Selective Service Board in 2011. Currently everyone 18 to 25 yrs. old must register with the Selective Service. Belize Fishing Trip Once again Harold Roberts (Captain Hook) usually organizes fishing expeditions annually to enjoy with fellow Captains Table members. This year we headed south for a 5-day fishing trip in Belize for Bonefish, Tarpon, and Snook. We stayed Belize River Lodge and accommodations were nice and we had amazing home cooked food served family style everyday! Regretablly, the weather was windy, overcast and the fishing was slow, particularly for the Bonefish. However, everyone enjoyed our fishing experiences and new friendships. We look forward to more fishing expeditions in the future!
