I know why. It s because of a birthday, a couple birthdays-preparing for the birth of Christ, and because I turn 60 today. Holy cow, 60 It s usually not a big deal to tell people my age, but this age seems well, old-even though I feel pretty darn young at heart. During Mass today, I sat behind one of our kindergarten moms holding a darling, blond-haired toddler. He kept hugging his mom, giving her kisses, playing with her earrings. It was such a common thing to see, but today it seemed especially sweet and tender. Watching them, I thought, Did Jesus do this to his Mom? (Of course he did.) Did Mary dote on Jesus? (Of course she did.) It also made me think, Did I experience this interaction with my own children? (Of course I did). But, long term memory involving details isn t one of my gifts. I can only hope that when I meet Jesus, He will reveal to me the times I held my own children just like I saw today. Then, I pray He understands when I failed to thank Him for the gift of motherhood. So as I enter a new decade, I hope to slow down a bit and celebrate the miracle of the moment and there are so many I pray that something this Advent (perhaps you have a birthday) stops you in your tracks and takes your breath away, bringing an awareness of the preciousness of life. Together, let s thank the Holy Spirit for these reflective moments. In the Triumph of God s Great Love, Maureen Engen Principal

On Monday night, Kindergarten through 5th grade had their Christmas concert. The students did a fantastic job singing and bringing joy to all in this Advent season. A special thank you again to Miss Vogt for her hard work and dedication to make the night a reality.
