2 of 9 1. To open the machine unplug from outlet, remove water tank, the drip trays, used coffee container, cover of water tank, bean hopper and aroma cover. Remove any beans left in the bean container. Vacuum out beans or carefully turn machine upside down. 2. To open the housing, remove the two screws (Philips or Torx 10, as noted by the old or new model) as shown by the red arrows. 3. On the back of the machine, remove four oval head screws. You need special oval key for these screws. (Effort by Jura to make work on the machine difficult). With some damage to the plastic around the screw, one can unscrew these using a any grip-lock pliers. Now pull the housing cover up to open the top view. See picture below. 2 of 9
3 of 9 Lock catches 1 2 4. Now pull the side wall about 1 cm back (1) and then swing to the outside away from the machine. To separate all sides, use patience instead of force. Alternatively pull the front panel up to release the top and side latches (blue arrow) that hold the front panel and carefully pull the side wall (yellow arrow) diagonally down. 3 of 9

The machine is now accessible from two sides to replace parts as necessay. 7. To reassemble the housing, follow the disassembly steps backwards. Place the side panel under to align the lock notches. 6 of 9 Opening and closing the case on the Jura C / E / F series. Remove the two screws holding the brew drive motor, as shown by the yellow arrows (Screws may be Philips or size Torx T20). See close up pictures of screws below. Note: These two screw are coated and may need extra care, effort and attention. 6 of 9

8 of 9 The high pressure water inlet at the bottom of the brew group can be removed by pulling the hairpin clip away to the left Left arrow) and lift the water inlet valve in the up arrow direction. Remove the grinder outlet shoot and funnel (blue arrow) by cutting the plastic tie or in some models by removing a screw and lift it up to separate. Then remove the three screws (yellow arrows). Although the drainage valve, located at the bottom of each group, may differ slightly based on the espresso machine model. The structure and design of all Drainage valves is identical. Remove the brew group from the machine and place it on an open table or area before disassembling it. Jura Brew group display in the picture above is in the vertical postion. Make sure the espresso outlet tube connector is removed completely. Disconnect the water inlet PTFE tube (from the thermoblock) is disconnected and O-ring seal and hairpin clip is saved for use later. Disassembling the brew group is the easy part. However, reassembling can be challenging for the first time users. We strongly recommend that parts & wires disconnected are tagged & pictures taken after every 5 or 6 steps to help re-assembly.

Be gentle while removing it as the hinges might break off while removing. Remove from all 4 corners. 3. Remove the top portion completely. Brew Group Side Cover 4. Remove the side covers. The side covers are snapped on to the brew group. Take the flat head screw driver, preferably, the sharpest edge, and insert between brew group side cover and brew group below the green marked area on the picture above. Slightly push the
flat head screw driver upward to remove the side cover. Be careful when removing the side cover for the red colored side as its hidden and can be challenging. Brew Group Drainage Valve 5. To detach the red marked side, insert the flat head screw driver to press the nose of the in the arrow direction and loosen it. Remove the side cover completely. Apply the same instructions to remove the side cover from the other side.
6. The brew group side railing can be removed easily after removing the side covers. 7. Remove the metal ring from both sides of the brew group. 8. Unscrew the brew group gear in the upward direction to completely remove it from the brew group spiral riser.

11. The drainage valve should slide out easily 12. Removing the brew group shaft. Use the nose pliers to remove the C clip washers. Be careful as the C clip washer might jump off quickly as you remove it.
13. After removing C clip washers from both ends of the shaft, simply pull out the shaft. 14. If the shaft is not easily removed, then use the flat surfaced tool to gently knock it out. Be careful as it can be little tricky. 19. Press the two arms of the gear drive carefully. Lower the gear drive and remove from the main brew group body. 20. Remove the old brew group piston o-ring using the flat head screw driver. Be sure to remove it gently.
21. Clean the o-ring groove on the piston. Lubricate the lower piston using the food grade lube. Replace the new piston o-ring. Apply lubricant cleanly around the piston and o-ring. 22. Ensure the brew group piston o-ring is correctly replaced.
23. Disassembly the brew group riser tube. 24. Slightly turn to release the riser tube and pull it upward
25. Replace the two o-rings located at the top and the bottom of the riser tube. Slightly lubricate it. Be sure to replace the crema/check valve (the small white piece indicated with red arrow) at the bottom of the spring correctly otherwise optimum espresso extraction can be compromised.
26. Replace the brew group cylinder o-ring. 27. Clean the piston o-ring groove and apply food grade lubricant. 28. Correctly replace the piston o-ring
29. Re-install the brew gear drive. Make sure there is no dirt in the transmission. Ensure the brew drive gears are clean. 30. Ensure the brew gear drive transmission is lined up correctly as displayed above.
31. Apply food grade lubricant to the inside of the brewing cylinder. 32. Apply the food grade lubricant to the piston o-ring.
33. Move the brewing chamber inside the brew group body. 34. Make sure both pieces slide together until it stops. The lower piston displayed below is not sold as a part. Use extra care to remove it. Remember the position as it is removed & replace it in the same position to avoid re-doing the whole job. 35. Hold firmly and compress the gear drive and the brewing cylinder. 36. Attach the lower brewing plunger.
37. Loosen the right hand a little and with gentle pressure push the piston into the cylinder. 38. Place the brew group on the flat surface. Re-install the metal shaft.
39. Slightly lubricate the metal shaft when replacing it. 40. Replace both the metal rings on each side. Slightly bend the plastic tabs and metal rings while pushing. Ensure the metal rings are aligned correctly with the lower piston drive. 41. Move the piston by hands few times to examine the movement of the lower brewing plunger. If unable to move it, then reassemble correctly. 42. Replace the c clip metal washers to secure the metal shaft.
43. Apply the food grade lubricant to the brew group piston o-ring if you didn t already before inserting into the brewing chamber. 44. Note the position of the upper piston riser tube inlet. Ensure its aligned correctly with the riser tube.
45. Slide the brewing piston down. 46. Replace the brew group ring.

48. Bring the brew group ring down to 4-5 circular threads. 49. Apply the food grade lubricant to the brew group side channels.
