MONTHLY ACTIVITIES Monthly activities are held at 923 Migeon Avenue and are accessible. CRAFT / SOCIAL GROUP: Monthly on the first Wednesday evening in April and May Cost: Free - Time: 6:15pm 7:45pm - Dates: April 4 and May 2 no group scheduled in June - Bring a craft project to work on. Some individuals bring the adult coloring books to work on - Bring a refreshment if you would like to. - I will be able to bring home anyone that lives in the Torrington area and does not have transportation home. Everyone is welcome to attend. BINGO: Monthly on Wednesday evenings in April, May and June - Time: 6:15pm to 7:45pm - Dates: April 11, May 9 and June 6 - Enjoy multiple games of bingo with friends! Everyone wins. - Refreshments are served at 7:30pm. GAMES: Monthly on Friday evenings - Time: 6:15pm to 7:45pm - Dates: April 13 May 4 June 1 - Many table games are available to play along with wii. - Refreshments are served at 7:15pm. - CRAFT: Monthly on Saturday mornings - Time: 10:00am 11:30am - Date: April 14 May 5 June 2 - Complete three seasonal crafts to take home. - Please bring a bag to carry your crafts home in. Bring money for a purchase. Lunch will be at Magic Wings before going into the butterfly area. The butterflies are different colors and fly around two greenhouses. You will also see lizards, parrots, tortoises and other animals. Saturday April 21, 2018 Mystic Aquarium Cost: $95.00 accessible Time: 8:30am to 4:30pm Bring money for a souvenir. See fish, seals, sea lions, penguins, a touch tank, poison dart frogs, beluga whales are more marine life. Lunch is included Saturday April 28, 2018 Daffodil Festival Cost: $35.00 not accessible Time: 9:30am to 3:00pm Bring a sandwich, I will purchase drinks / fries and dessert. Bring money for purchases from crafters. Millions of daffodils around the park. Can you count them all? TRIPS SCHEDULED FOR MAY Sunday, May 13, 2018 Beardsley Zoo Cost: $48.00 accessible Time: 9:00am to 3:30pm Bring a sandwich, I will purchase drinks / fries. The Bees will be hosting the Lancaster Barnstormers. We will have lunch while watching the game. Hotdogs / chips / drink and 7 th inning refreshments. Bring money for a souvenir in the gift shop. Saturday May 19, 2018 Essex Train Cost: $70.00 not accessible Time: 8:15 am to 4:00 pm Bring a sandwich, I will purchase drinks / chips. Bring money for a souvenir in the gift shop or shops in Essex. A special train ride to and from Haddam which is two hours long. We will also walk along the quaint little shops in the town of Essex. Wednesday May 23, 2018 Mystic Seaport Cost: $95.00 not accessible Time: 8:30am to 4:30pm A day visiting the Mystic Seaport. See the history of the seamen and the clipper ships. Bring money for a souvenir in the gift shop. Wednesday May 30, 2018 Mini Golf / Dinner Cost: $35.00 not accessible Time: 2:00pm to 7:00pm All interested parties will be picked up at their vocational sight. Then we will head off to the Colebrook River Dam and then to R&B Sports World for a game of mini golf. Dinner will be at Frank s Pizza in Torrington for pizza / salad and drinks. Nothing extra is needed. TRIPS SCHEDULED FOR JUNE Sunday June 3, 2018 Thimble Islands Cost: $60.00 not accessible Time: 9:15am to 3:30pm A 45 minute boat ride around the Thimble Islands in the town of Branford. There are about 20 islands with at least 4 houses on each, including some mansions. Bring a sandwich / refreshments and snacks will be bought at the CT Service Plaza in Branford. Another stop for ice cream at Praline s in Westfield Shopping Center before traveling back to LARC. No extra money is necessary.
