A very warm welcome from myself and the team here at the Plaza Café, a restored gem in your Plaza Super Cinema & Variety Theatre. In October 1932 a vision was born for Stockport and the North West in the form of a Super Cinema and Variety Theatre to evoke the glamour of the era. With its sumptuous surroundings, the highest possible attention to detail in its customer care, an eclectic mix of screen and stage presentation and the finest café dining experience in the region our art deco gem was born. Over 85 years on, our ongoing maintenance and restoration appeal is dedicated to developing The Plaza. Through the commitment of our staff and dedicated volunteers The Plaza is now acclaimed as the UK s finest example of its genre and a building of international significance. Your support in visiting us enables the preservation of this magnificent building for future generations. Now take yourself back to the 7th October 1932 when style, elegance and a relaxed atmosphere could be enjoyed in the sumptuous surroundings of our art deco Café and join us for a break from the hustle and bustle of your day.
