Introduction The Underground Cookery School was set up in the summer of 2003 to offer a fun, hands-on, and relaxed approach to cookery. Customers come primarily to be part of a truly memorable experience, which means creating a totally unique party atmosphere, where the drinks flow without limit, and the standard of cuisine is to the very highest level. Our venue is situated within a five minute walk of Old Street Tube next to The City, and set in a purpose built location that combines designer kitchens with its own bespoke self-contained, contemporary, restaurant dining rooms. Without taking ourselves too seriously, we ll show you all the tricks of the trade, covering basis such as knife skills, pasta making, butchery, pastry, and a la mode presentation, making sure you've a glass of wine in your hand in the process. 020 7251 6298
Team Building & Private Client Sessions Corporate group sessions are always bespoke to a client s individual requirements, so the customer chooses the start time and set s a schedule, time table, and menu under our guidance. An evening event usually begins with prosecco and canapé, followed by a two-hour cookery session, which will always includes dietary alternatives, and plenty to drink as part of any package. Everyone is encouraged to have a laugh, everyone gets hands-on cooking experience at their own pace, and our team are always on hand to insure that when the meal is served, it s to the highest level, with plenty of drinks. Events starting in mornings begin with breakfast and can include the use of our fully equipped meeting facilities. The Underground Cookery Challenge The party is split into teams, with each given a cash budget, a list of ingredients and the challenge to source product and ingredients, whilst negotiating price from market traders and artesian retailers. To be the top team they will also have to cook like a Michelin-starred chef, and all against the clock to avoid the wooden spoon. The whole group then enjoys the food they've bought and cooked, culminating in a prize giving after dessert to determine who the champions of the challenge are. 020 7251 6298
