We welcome the opportunity to take care of you and can offer an ideal setting to entertain your friends, family, clients or employees. The Clubhouse, located inside the Power Office building, is a brand new, beautiful banquet space that can accommodate groups up to 150 people for cocktail style settings or 80 people for a seated, banquet style event. Ideal for luncheons, meetings, birthday parties, rehearsal dinners or wedding receptions, The Clubhouse offers an intimate private setting for groups large and small. For those of you who are planning a wedding, congratulations!! A wedding is a very special event for a bride and groom. Our Director of Catering is also a Certified Wedding Planner and can assist you in creating memories that will last for a lifetime. No time to plan Let us plan it for you! The WV Power has menu selections ranging from a variety of pre-planned options to a customized menu to fit your special event. Menus and decorations for themed parties are also available. The Director of Catering can help you arrange your event on or around games and/or events taking place at Appalachian Power Park. You can even coincide your event with games and include tickets for your guests. Many options are available for your convenience.
General Information Our Catering Service will be pleased to serve breakfasts, brunches, luncheons, barbeques, banquets, dinners, buffets, receptions and coffee services scheduled at Appalachian Power Park or your desired location. The enclosed menus are only a general selection and variety of entrees and complements available to you. We take great pride in customizing a menu to provide that special service required for your individual event. Reservation and Guarantee In arranging for functions, the definite attendance must be specified three (3) business days in advance. This number will be considered a guarantee, not subject to change, and charges will be made accordingly. If the Catering office receives no guarantee, we will assume the expected number to be your guarantee. At the completion of each function, either the person in charge or a designated representative must sign all banquet checks. Any discrepancies in counts or charges should be identified and resolved at that time. Outside Food Sources Neither the patron nor its guests or invitees will be permitted to bring food and or beverages to a catered event to ensure the food served has been prepared in a kitchen that is subject to inspection by the Kanawha County Health Department and the criteria issued by the Kanawha County Health Department for Handling, Cooking, Holding, and Serving of said food. Special occasion cakes are the only exception. Alcoholic Beverages The WV Power is licensed to sell all legal Beverages. All beverages must be served by WV Power Catering/ Power Alley Grill Staff. Although your event may be considered a private event, The WV Power reserves the right to stop service to any guests before they become intoxicated and the right to request valid proof of legal drinking age before service of alcohol. Removal of Food From Premises Due to the potential for unsafe transfer and storage, no food purchased for consumption at WV Power/ Power Alley Grill may be removed from the premises. The reason for this policy is one of compliance with health regulations; food is extremely perishable and, when prepared for on-premise consumption should not be taken off property. Any food not consumed during an event will remain the property of the WV Power. In compliance with West Virginia DUI laws, neither the patron nor its guests or invitees will be permitted to leave the WV Power premises with alcoholic beverages. Prices and Service Charges Food and beverage prices quoted are subject to a 20% Service Charge and a 6% sales tax. According to West Virginia Law, service charges are taxable. Room rental fees vary but include tables, chairs, flatware, dishware and a simple centerpiece. If a change from the original room set-up is requested on the day of the function, a labor charge may be added to the banquet check depending on the labor required for the change. Function guests will be admitted to the banquet room and expected to depart at the time stated on the catering Banquet Event Order. The Client is responsible for the expenses of floral arrangements and linen costs incurred for room set-up. The client is responsible for and shall reimburse the WV Power Catering/ Power Alley Grill for any damage and or loss or liability incurred by the WV Power by any of the clients guests or any other persons or organizations contracted by the client to provide any service or goods before, during or after the function. Any items to be put on any meeting or lobby walls and any directional signs must be approved by the WV Power.
Payment If your group is tax-exempt, a State Sales Tax-Exempt Certificate is required to be on file at the WV Power Catering office prior to the function. Tax-Exemption will only be honored if payment for the function is made by check or credit card from the appropriate tax-exempt organization. No Tax-Exemption will be honored with a cash transaction or personal check. Payment in full will be requested the day before the event unless prior credit has been established. Invoice will be provided after your event detailing all purchases and payments. An initial non-refundable deposit of $100.00 is required upon signing the contract and completing a credit card authorization form. The deposit will be deducted from your final bill. Estimated charges are required to be paid in full three (3) days prior to your event. Any additional charges will be added to your final bill. In the event your final charges are not paid within ten (10) days, your credit card will be debited for the total amount owed. If you cancel your event 2 weeks before the event date, you will have six (6) months to reschedule without forfeiting your $100.00 deposit. Security The WV Power/ Power Alley Grill will not assume responsibility for damage or loss of merchandise and or property left on WV Power/ Power Alley Grill Premises prior to or following an event. Arrangements may be made for security of exhibits, merchandise, or display items prior to the event. Liability Insurance In some cases, you may be required to carry liability insurance. If you are unsure as to whether you will need this for your event, please feel free to ask the Director of Catering. Bar Service Any Function requiring bartender service is subject to a $50.00 service charge for a bar attendant.
