Thank you for your interest in the Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce & Industry 2015 Newburyport Riverfront Festival! Included in this packet you will find: 1) Food Vendor Regulations, 2) City of Newburyport Board of Health Temporary Food Service Permit Application and 3) Food Vendor Application. APPLICATION PROCESS Please read and complete BOTH City and Chamber applications and return with ALL required documentation (see City application, gray box) and payment. All paperwork and payment are to be sent directly to the Chamber, any necessary documentation will then be forwarded to the City Health Department. ONLY Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce & Industry members in good standing may apply. Please note: the Festival Committee is mindful of menu item duplication between vendors when reviewing applications. PAYMENT Payment can be made with cash, check, VISA, MasterCard, American Express. If your application is not accepted, your payment will be returned. Payment will not be returned if a food booth fails the on site inspection during an event. BOOTH PLACEMENT Food Vendors will be placed in Market Square (which includes, but is not limited to the bullnose) at the discretion of the Festival Committee. Some Food Vendors may be placed on Railroad Avenue next to the Firehouse Center for the Arts. CITY REQUEST Please be cognizant of City Council requests for Food Vendors to "dress up" the back of food booths during festivals, so to have a cleaner, more uniform look. 2015 Food Vendor Regulations Please read all Regulations & Requirements carefully. Keep a copy of these pages for your records. 1. Only Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce & Industry members in good standing will be considered for food vending at festival. Chamber membership does not guarantee acceptance, nor does prior festival participation. 2. Prior to festival, Food Vendors must visit the City of Newburyport Health Department at City Hall to have your ServSafe Certification approved and to receive a copy of 2015 city health regulations. 3. On the day of the event, Food Vendors must have possession of a ServSafe Food Permit. It must be visible at all times for purposes of identification and validity of items being sold. No Food Vendor will be allowed to sell without this permit. 4. Food Vendor check in at Market Square is begins at 7:30 AM on the day of the festival. Health Inspection will start at 9:00 AM. Permits are valid from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM during the festival day. 5. No generators are permitted. Electricity will NOT be supplied. 6. Permit is valid for the space assigned by the Festival Committee. There will be no swapping or changing of spaces. 7. Food Vendors must provide trash barrels and ground cover in the preparation area. Food Vendors are responsible for disposal of trash they generate. DO NOT use City trash containers or leave for the Chamber to dispose. At end of day, vendors must degrease area with biodegradable material. Nothing is to be poured into a storm drain or tree well at any time. 8. All Food Vendor spaces are 10 feet x 10 feet. 9. Any booth with a flame is required to have a 5 lb fire extinguisher per order of the Newburyport Fire Department. 10. All rules will be strictly enforced. Violators will forfeit their entry fee and their permit will be revoked. Questions?
