No charge will be made for entries. All products must have been made or grown by the exhibitor in the last year. All articles must be clean and in good condition to be accepted (with the exception of potatoes they must not be washed). The Fair Association reserves the right to reject or refuse any article not in proper condition for exhibition. Exhibits will be judged on merit the quality of work. If the judges do not believe that the item deserves a ribbon, none will be given. Due care will be taken on all exhibits, but the Association will not be held responsible for any breakage or loss which might occur. Page 1 of 13
Exhibit Entry and Release: Exhibits MUST be entered Wednesday, August 24 th between the hours of 1 pm and 8 pm, at the Circleville High School Building with the exception of perishable items which may be entered on Thursday, August 25 th at 8:30 a.m. if exhibitor chooses so. No more than two exhibits per class per exhibitor may be entered for judging. Exhibits will be released between the hours of 6:00 6:30 p.m. on Saturday evening August 27 th. Anyone removing exhibits prior to the exhibit release time on Saturday, will forfeit their prize money. Awards: Ribbons and prize money will be awarded as listed above in the Ribbons and Prize Money section. Best of Show awards will be presented in various departments as listed below. Department Specific Guidelines: Department B: Domestic Science Baking Division: The judges have requested that entries in the baking category that consist of individual items, such as biscuits, candy, etc. have a sample attached to the display, which may be used for sampling without disturbing the display. Items entered in this department, including candy, will be auctioned off on Thursday night at the outside stage after the talent show. Proceeds will go to the Fair Association. Ribbons will be displayed during the remainder of the fair, and may be picked up, along with their winnings on Saturday evening. If and exhibitor does not wish an entry to be auctioned off, they need to clarify this when entering item(s) so it will be clearly marked. Department C: Domestic Science Canning Division: All exhibits in the canning division must be labeled with a 2015 2016 date (the date of the fall of the previous year through the current year fair). Examples include Sept. 2015, 9/16, 6/8/16, etc. All canning rings must be in place. No freezer jams or jellies will be accepted.
