2004 Commodity Acceptability Report (CAP) General Comments/Recommendations MEATS There were concerns about bones in the diced chicken. Would like to receive 5lb packages of ground beef. Would like to begin receiving meat and poultry in vacuum packed bags. Ground beef is too fatty. FRUITS Raisins are hard and dry out fast! Raisins should be shrink wrapped. Would like to receive 5lb bags of shredded mozzarella cheese. DoD FRESH PRODUCE Would like for the DoD program to be made available to the child care centers MISCELLANEOUS Some of the foods offered to the daycares were not appealing to the children. Those that expressed comments preferred using ECOS to our old allocation and distribution methods. Commodities for child care centers have been very scarce. It is difficult to evaluate these items. 8
