A famil y tradition JD Burford Ltd is a British family business initially established in 1970s by its founder Peter Burford. Using the knowledge and experience gained serving other manufacturers with metal components for gifts and homewares, we decided to embark on a range of products exclusively for outlets wanting high quality, fashionable lighting and home products. Using simple timeless designs mixed with a host of carefully selected neutral colours schemes ensures one of the most desirable home product ranges available on the UK market. All our products are made to the highest standards and are produced and/or finished at our factory which is situated at the heart of what was the Welsh coal mining fields. Our factory is situated right in the heart of the former Welsh Coal fields, where coal miners would toil every day. As a declaration of authenticity, every lamp that we manufacture here in Wales has MADE IN WALES stamped on the underside. We are proud to be the only officially Welsh company manufacturing reproduction ornamental miner s lamps. This means when you buy one of our lamps you will own something that has a real connection with the mining heritage, made by the sons and daughters of Welsh coal miners. Our beautiful range of Welsh Miners Lamps is inspired by our families and the wonderful landscape around us. Our beautiful lamps are available in a variety of different sizes and finishes, from the all brass lamp mostly used by the common miner through to our manager type lamp, manufactured in the more expensive materials of nickel effect combined with a brass base that would have been used by the more superior and distinguished workers in the colliery, as opposed to that used by the common miner. You will also notice that we have a range of lamps available with a modern twist, providing you with a classic lamp that will still look perfect in a contemporary home.
