FACS RECIPES Jumbled Fruit Crumble ½ of a 21 oz. can pie filling 2 whole graham crackers ¼ c. oats 2 T. brown sugar 2 T. butter -Preheat oven to 375 F. -In a glass casserole dish, combine pie filling and almond extract. Put graham crackers in a plastic bag, seal it and crush them with a rolling pin. -In a glass bowl, melt butter, and then add the crushed graham crackers, oats, and brown sugar. Mix with a fork until crumbly. Sprinkle over the pie filling. -Bake uncovered in the oven for 10-15 mins. or until lightly browned. Whipped cream Whip ½ c. cream with electric beater until it forms soft peaks when the beaters are lifted out. Be careful not to over whip the cream or you will have butter! After the cream is whipped, stir in ¼ t. vanilla and about 1 ½ T. sugar. Spoon onto fruit crumble. Applesauce Cookies ¼ c. shortening ½ c. sugar ½ c. applesauce 1 c. flour ½ t. nutmeg ¼ t. cloves ½ (2T) beaten egg ¼ t. baking soda ¼ t. salt ¾ t. cinnamon -Preheat oven to 375 F. -Cream together the shortening and sugar. Then add the egg and applesauce and mix. -Add dry ingredients. Stir. -Spoon onto lightly greased cookie sheet. (dough is sticky) -Bake for 10 mins.

Chicken Stir Fry 1 c. minute rice 1 c. water Place water and rice in a med. sized glass bowl. Cover with plastic wrap. Microwave for 6 mins. Let stand 5 mins. or until water is absorbed. Fluff with fork. 1/2 c. boiling water 1 chicken boullion cube 1/2 small onion, chopped 1 carrot, sliced 1/2 c. broccoli, chopped 1/2 stalk celery, sliced 1 small chicken breast, cut up into 1/2" pieces 2 T. oil 1/2 c. cold water 1/2 t. ginger 2 T. soy sauce 1 T. cornstarch -Bring 1/2 c. water to a boil in the microwave. Add in the chicken boullion cube and stir. Set aside. -Heat 2 T. oil in wok on med-high heat. Add the cut chicken and cook until the inside is white, about 3 minutes. Then reduce heat to med., add the vegetables and stir fry for about 5 minutes. -Add boullion mixture to wok, cover and cook for 3 minutes. Stir together the other 1/2 c. cold water, corn starch, ginger and soy sauce and then add it to the wok. Cook a few mins. until sauce is thick. -Serve over rice. Tacos uncooked tortillas 1/3 lb. hamburger 1 T. taco seasoning 2 T. water 1/2 c. lettuce, chopped 1/3 tomato, chopped 1/2 c. shredded cheese sour cream salsa -Cook hamburger in small skillet until no red remaining. Add taco seasoning and water. Simmer until water is absorbed or evaporated. -While cooking meat, cut lettuce and tomatoes into bite size pieces.

-Cook tortillas in a large non-stick skillet on med. heat about 30 seconds per side or until tortilla starts to puff up. -Put a sprinkle of cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and meat in tortilla. -Get sour cream and salsa from supply table. German Pancakes 6 Tbsp. butter 1 cup milk 6 eggs 1 cup flour 1/4 tsp. salt -Pre-heat oven to 400*F. -Melt butter in 9 x 13 inch pan in the oven. -Beat eggs, add flour, milk, and salt. Mix. -Pour batter over melted butter. -Bake at 400*F for 15 to 20 minutes. -Serve with favorite topping. Pancakes 1 cup flour 2/3 cup milk 1 egg 1 T. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 T. oil -Mix all ingredients together thoroughly. -Heat frying pan on med heat. Spray with non-stick cooking spray before making each pancake. -Cook on one side until puffed, full of bubbles, and cooked on the edges. -Carefully turn and cook on the other side. Orange Julius 1-6 oz. can frozen orange juice concentrate ¼ c. sugar ½ c. milk 1 c. cold water 1 t. vanilla 12 ice cubes (2 c. crushed) -Place the orange juice, sugar, milk, water and vanilla in the blender. Blend until smooth. -Add the ice a few cubes at a time and blend until smooth. Make sure the lid is on.

Breakfast Bars 3 T. corn syrup 3 T. margarine 2 ½ c. marshmallows ¾ c. chocolate chips ½ t. vanilla 4 c. cereal ½ c. marshmallows -Pour 4 cups of cereal into a large mixing bowl. -Measure the corn syrup, margarine, 2 ½ c. marshmallows and chocolate chips into a 2 qt. sauce pan. Stir on medium heat until dissolved. Take the pan off of the heat and stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal and stir until well coated. Stir the other ½ c. marshmallows into the cereal. Lightly grease an 8 x 8 square pan and press mixture into the pan. Let cool. Cut and serve. Soft Pretzels 3 c. flour 2 1/4 t. yeast 1/2 t. salt 1 c. warm water 1 1/2 T. honey 2 1/4 t. cold water 1 egg -Preheat oven to 425 F. -Combine 1 1/2 c. flour, yeast and salt in a large glass bowl. -Stir in warm water and honey with a wooden spoon until combined. Add enough of the remaining flour to make a soft dough. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead for 5 mins. or until dough is smooth and elastic. -Cut dough into equal pieces. On lightly floured surface, roll each piece of dough into a smooth 10 inch rope. Form pretzels and place on greased baking sheet. -Mix egg and cold water together with a fork and brush on each pretzel with a pastry brush. Sprinkle with seasonings. (parmesan cheese, garlic salt, rock salt, cinnamon sugar) -Bake 15-20 mins. or until lightly browned. Peanut Butter Play Dough 2 c. peanut butter 1 ½ c. honey (could use corn syrup). 2 ½ c. powdered milk -Combine all ingredients and stir until completely mixed

Microwave Fettuccine Alfredo 8 oz. fettuccine noodles 1/2 c. grated parmesan cheese 1/4 c. butter or margarine, cut into quarters 1/2 c. heavy cream pepper to taste -In a medium sized sauce pan, bring a large amount of water to a boil on high heat on the range. (The water will boil faster if you cover it with a lid.) Stir in noodles. Reduce heat to med/high and cook for 7-8 mins. without a lid. Drain in a colander. -In a large glass bowl, combine cheese, butter and cream. Cook in the microwave at medium heat for 3-4 mins. Stir twice during cooking. Stir in drained noodles and toss well. Season with pepper. Fruit Salad ½ small pkg. Instant Lemon pudding and pie filling (about 1/4 c.) 1 c. cold milk 1/3 16 oz. can fruit cocktail, drained 1/3 13 oz. can pineapple tidbits, drained 1/3 15 oz. can mandarin oranges, drained ½ c. miniature marshmallows ½ c. heavy cream, whipped 1/2 banana, sliced -Beat pudding mix and 1 cup cold milk in a bowl with a wire whisk for 2 mins. -Fold in drained fruit, marshmallows and whipped cream. -Slice bananas and fold in just before serving. Mini Pizzas -on a lightly floured cutting board, flatten dough into a circle about ½ thick -put on toppings in the following order: 1 T. sauce 1 T. mozarella cheese 1 T. cheddar cheese 3 pieces of meat about 1 T. of other topping -Spray pizza pan with non-stick spray. Bake in oven at 400 F for 8-10 mins. or until dough is light brown and cheese is melted.

Shakes -for one shake in blender combine: 3 scoops of ice cream 2 T. milk ¼ c. of other toppings -Blend on high. Peanut Butter Rolled Oat Clusters 1 c. sugar 1/4 c. milk 1/4 c. butter Pinch of salt 1/2 t. vanilla 1/2 c. peanut butter 1 1/2 c. rolled oats -In a medium saucepan combine sugar, milk, butter, salt and stir on med high heat while stirring. Bring to a full boil. Boil for one min. -Remove from heat. Add vanilla and peanut butter and stir until smooth. Add rolled oats and mix well. -Cool slightly until mixture holds shape. Drop onto waxed paper and cool.
