My weekly musings first appeared 39 years ago in our newspaper ad. When I joined as the voice of the customer in late 1971 (after being a consumer educator with Cooperative Extension, first in NJ and then in NY), I was learning a great deal about the supermarket that I realized most consumers didn t know. The column was my way to share each week what I was discovering goes on behind the scenes and shelves of our stores. In total, I ve written about 2,100 columns. Fast forward to today. Our newspaper flyer/ad appears only once a month now. I am still writing a column every week, so even though we don t have a weekly flyer anymore, you can always find me on wegmans.com. The change I wanted you to know about is that the column is becoming a blog on wegmans.com. This will allow me to use pictures or even video to illustrate the topic, and eliminate the need to pare the column length down to 300 words (or thereabouts).
