Contents Ice Cream Maker parts Ice Cream Maker parts 4 Before using your Ice Cream Maker 4 Operating your Ice Cream Maker 5 Motor Housing Unit Cleaning your Ice Cream Maker 6 Topping suggestions 7 Important safety information 8 Product guarantee & WEEE information 9 Problems & returns information 10 Mixing Paddle Pouring Spout Locking Clip Cooler Container On/Off Switch Before using your Ice Cream Maker Before using your Ice Cream Maker for the first time make sure that you: Remove the Ice Cream Maker from its packaging. Completely unwind the power lead. Clean the cooler compartment, the top panel and the mixing paddle to remove any manufacturing residues. Place the Ice Cream Maker on a dry, level surface away from any other appliances or objects. Your Ice Cream Maker is now ready to use. 3 4

Operating Your Ice Cream Maker Freezing the Cooler Compartment 1. Place the cooler container in the freezer. At a temperature of -18 C it takes at least 12 hours until the container has cooled properly. At a higher temperature this takes longer. Preferably, leave the container in the freezer overnight. If you always leave the container in the freezer you can make ice cream whenever you want! 2. Remove the cooler container from the freezer immediately before making the ice cream. Making Ice Cream 1. Prepare the ingredients and mix them together according to the instructions in the recipe. 2. With cooked ingredients, place the mixing bowl over a pan of cold water to cool it down. 3. Place the mixture in the refrigerator to let them cool down (further) before you place them in the cooler compartment. Cleaning your Ice Cream Maker Follow these simple steps to clean and maintain your Ice Cream Maker after every use: 1. Turn your Ice Cream Maker OFF by using the On/Off switch, and remove the plug from the wall socket. 2. Clean the cooler container, the mixing paddle and the cover in warm soapy water. Rinse the parts with ample water and dry them thoroughly. 3. Clean the motor housing with a soft damp cloth. Then dry all the parts thoroughly. 4. Keep the appliance in a dry place. You can also keep the cooler container in the freezer. NEVER put any parts of the Ice Cream Maker in a dishwasher. NEVER use abrasive cleaning agents or sharp objects (e.g. scrubbing brush or a knife) for cleaning. 4. Insert the mixing paddle in the opening on the underside of the motor housing. 5. Place the motor housing on the cover. 6. Push the mixing paddle through the hole in the cover. Move the motor housing forwards until it clicks into place in the cover. 7. Take the cooler container out of the freezer. 8. Place the cover on the frozen cooler container so that the locking clips on the cover align with the cut outs in the cooler container 9. Turn the locking clip clockwise until it clicks into position. 10. Put the plug in the wall socket. 11. Turn the Ice Cream Maker on using the On/Off switch. 12. Place the ingredients into the cooler container through the opening on the top panel. 13. Allow the Ice Cream Maker to run for about 20-30 minutes until the ice cream has reached the required consistency. Make allowance for the fact that the ice cream will not be as hard as store-bought ice cream. 14. Switch off the Ice Cream Maker using the On/Off switch, and remove the plug from the wall socket. 15. For harder ice cream, spoon the contents of the cooler container into an airtight freezer box and place it in the freezer for a few hours until it has hardened. You can also leave the ice cream in a covered cooler container before placing in to your freezer for no longer than 2 hours. 5 6

Recipes Easy Vanilla Ice Cream 500ml of good quality shop bought vanilla custard or crème anglaise if possible (available in supermarkets) 300ml of double cream 1. Mix the custard and cream well in a bowl and taste, you can add more vanilla if required. Pour the mixture into the Ice Cream Maker as per instructions and churn until scoopable. 2. For harder ice cream, spoon the contents of the cooler container into an airtight freezer box and place it in the freezer for a few hours until it has hardened. Recipes The following recipes use the basic vanilla recipe opposite with additional ingredients to give a variety of flavours. Fresh Strawberry Ice Cream 400g of strawberries 4 tablespoons of icing sugar 1 dessert spoon of lemon juice Remove husks from strawberries and add to a blender with other ingredients and mix to a puree. Add to basic vanilla mix at point of churning. Traditional Vanilla Ice Cream 200ml of full fat milk 200ml of double cream 1 vanilla pod 4 egg yolks 75g of caster sugar 1 teaspoon cornflour Pinch of salt 1. Put the milk, cream and split vanilla pod into a pan and bring slowly to the boil, remove from heat and allow to infuse for 15 minutes. 2. Mix the egg yolks, salt, cornflour and sugar in a bowl and pour on the cream mixture, stir well and return the mix to the clean pan. Cook over a low heat stirring all of the time until the mixture thickens slightly. Chocolate Ice Cream 2 level tablespoons of cocoa powder 100g of dark chocolate chopped Add the cocoa powder when mixing the egg yolks with other ingredients and add the chopped chocolate to the thickened custard mixture once it is removed from the heat. There are several other flavours that can be made from the basic recipe such as raspberry, banana and toffee, mint chocolate chip etc. 3. Remove the pan from the heat and place the pan immediately over a container of cold water to stop the cooking process. Strain the mixture into a bowl and allow to cool. Once cold pour the mixture into the Ice Cream Maker as per instructions until a soft scoop stage is achieved. 4. For harder ice cream, spoon the contents of the cooler container into an airtight freezer box and place it in the freezer for a few hours until it has hardened. Best eaten within a week of making. 7 8
