She came to bring her mother, Isabel, and found herself enjoying our center as well. Pat realized there was plenty to do to help in our center and she became a volunteer. Pat now serves on the Advisory Council and the Nutrition Site Council where she works hard for the betterment of our center and especially for our seniors. Pat is usually helping in the kitchen when she is not decorating, organizing for our events and welcoming new seniors. She tries her best to make new seniors feel comfortable. Thank you, Pat, you're a real asset to our center! VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH Bonita is a wonderful volunteer instructor in our Bone Builder s program. She assists our students greatly as she teaches very important exercises that assist with balance, strength, and osteoporosis. Bonita went through training classes in order to be able to teach our seniors in this amazing program. She teaches with a kind, caring, and compassionate heart. Bonita is willing to help those who are new to the class as well as the long time students. She is always very friendly and approachable. (no pets please) AARP Driver Safety Program ~ 4 Hour Refresher Course Monday, July 27 From 10:30 am 3:30 pm Cost: $15 AARP Members $20 Non-members The AARP Driver Safety Program is the nation s first and largest classroom course, designed especially for drivers ages 50 and older. However, the course is open to licensed drivers of all ages. Course completion helps older drivers refine existing skills and develop safe driving strategies in today s challenging driving environment. There are no tests required. You may also be able to receive a premium discount from your auto insurance company, after completing the AARP safety driving course. Pre-registration is required.
