Standards Jimmy s Killer Prawns maintains the highest standards and will demand the same from its franchisees. There is no compromise on the quality of food and levels of service. The Cost of Setting up a Killer Prawn Franchise The average setup cost of a Jimmy s Killer Prawns Franchise can be from R1.4 million, depending on the type of restaurant, the size of the premises and other factors. The size of the restaurant, location, pre-opening expenses, inventory, selection of equipment, signage, seating and style of decor and landscaping will affect cost. The cost of setting up a franchise can only be given once the site has been assessed. This excludes any potential tenant installation (TI) allowance received from landlords. This is for a turn-key operation exclusive of Joining fee, opening stock & VAT.

A minimum of 50% of the set up costs must be unencumbered. In the event of the opening of the outlet being unsuccessful, only 75% of the sign-up fee will be refunded. Return on Investment The business model has been designed to achieve a return on your capital within a period 24 to 36 months. It is our recommendation that the entire amount required for the set up of the franchise be from your own capital. Operation of the Franchise The point of sale has a full stock control system built into it. In addition to this there has been external control system developed to assist part time owners. These external controls assist the franchisee in having the outlet manager run. Having said that, there is nothing like a business being owner run. Head Office have experienced Franchise Support Consultants which assist with the day to day operations of the franchise and regular checks are done to maintain standards. Royalty The royalty fee is 5% of turnover. This has to be paid on a monthly basis by no later than the 7th of each month. A National marketing fee is also charged.
