The day is on your own for shopping and lunch. The bus will drop off in Solvang first then take the group over the the casino for a few ours before returning back into downtown Solvang for the return home. BE SURE TO SIGN IN AT REGISTRATION DESK TO RECEIVE YOUR TICKET NUMBER BEFORE 11:45 A.M. LUNCH IS SERVED AT NOON. Reservations are required 48 hours in advance. Call (626) 812-5204. Advance reservations are forfeited at 11:45 am. Late arrivals will be added to the waiting list. If you make a reservation for a Monday, be sure to check in before 11:15 or you will forfeit your lunch reservation. All adults 60 years and older and their spouses are welcome to have lunch. The suggested donation is $1.85 per meal. Guests 50-59 years shall pay $3.00 per meal. This program is funded in part through Title III of the Older Americans Act as amended by the County of Los Angeles Area Agency on Aging. All meals are served with milk, bread and margarine. Transportation is available to Azusa residents from Azusa Dial-a-Ride. Register early! 11:30 am: Costume Parade 1:00 pm: Movie: Secret Window AARP Driver Safety Program at the Azusa Senior Center Mon., Nov. 4 & Wed., Nov 6 (must attend both classes) From 8:30 am 12:30 pm Cost: $12 AARP Members $ 14 Non-members The AARP Driver Safety Program is the nation s first and largest classroom course, designed especially for drivers ages 50 and older. However, the course is open to licensed drivers of all ages. Course completion helps older drivers refine existing skills and develop safe driving strategies in today s challenging driving environment. There are no tests required. You may also be able to receive a premium discount from your auto insurance company, after completing the AARP safety driving course. Pre-registration is required. He has worked out with Bone Builders since it started here. Recently, he has become on of the Bone Builders instructors and is doing a great job. He seems to enjoy it very much as well as his students. Ernie has a lot of different interests and talents. One of his talents for sure is dancing; he can Cha Cha, Swing and do a little Rock & Roll too. Ernie has a great sense of humor and we re so glad to have him as a volunteer. Ernie has also helped make the Diabetic Roundtable very successful Thank you again, Ernie! VOLUNTEERS OF THE MONTH Mr. Ildefonso Ramirez is a fine gentleman. You ll find him helping his wife Lucia by cleaning and setting tables to prepare for the lunch crowd. After this, he ll cart the coffee over to the coffee corner bar for the beginning of the coffee rush. You ll see him helping people in wheelchairs and walkers in and around the senior center. He s hard working man at home also. He built his house in Mexico one brick at a time and does beautiful tile work. Ildefonso is always so polite and giving of his time and energy. Thank you so much!
