Château de Chantegrive Booth #1 1 Château de Chantegrive Cuvée Caroline Blanc 2011 SKU 15821 Graves White Wine 750ml $48.88 RP 85 WS 89-92 Shows good richness, with paraffin and blanched almond notes leading the way for full-bodied Meyer lemon, citrus oil and gooseberry flavors. A whiff of smoke moves through the finish. (WS) 2 Château de Chantegrive Rouge 2011 SKU 15659 Graves Red Wine 750ml $38.90 RP 89 WS 88 WE 90 Consistently one of my best buy picks from Graves is this large estate owned by the Leveque family producing both delicious red and white wines. An equal part blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2011 Chantegrive offers an excellent value/price rapport. Classic notes of unsmoked cigar tobacco intermixed with red and black currants, barbecue smoke and spice jump from the glass of this fleshy, medium-bodied, beautifully pure and textured wine. It is a terrific success in this difficult vintage. This big-time sleeper of the vintage should be drunk over the next 7-8 years. (RP) 3 Château de Chantegrive Cuvée Caroline Blanc 2012 SKU 17066 Graves White Wine 750ml $48.88 RP 88-90 WS 89 Buttered pineapple, crisp citrus, a touch of smoke and a medium-bodied, nicely concentrated personality make this one of the best values in serious white Graves. Drink now-2018. (RP) 4 Château de Chantegrive Rouge 2012 SKU 16956 Graves Red Wine 750ml $39.21 RP 89 WS 87 WE 92 The Leveque family has hit pay dirt again with this 2012 Graves. An inky, bluish/purple color, and an equal part blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the wine shows terrific fruit, great purity, graphite and underlying earthy burning ember notes. It has medium body and loads of fruit, depth and light tannin in the finish, showing this wine can be drunk early, or cellared for up to a decade. A sleeper of the vintage. (RP) 5

5 Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion 2011 SKU 13076 Pessac-Léognan Red Wine 750ml $105.00 RP 92 WS 90 WE 90 This tiny jewel of a property, situated close to La Mission-Haut-Brion and Haut-Brion, has turned out one of the stars of the 2011 vintage. A deep dark ruby/purple color is followed by hints of graphite, charcoal, creme de cassis and Christmas fruitcake. This medium-bodied Pessac-Leognan is gorgeously concentrated with impeccably well-integrated acidity, tannin, alcohol and oak. An authoritatively long finish adds to the class and nobility of this wine. Drink it over the next 15 years. (RP) 6 Booth #2 Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion 2012 SKU 16696 Pessac-Léognan Red Wine 750ml $123.94 RP 94 WS 91 DEC 89 WE 92 An inky, bluish-black color, this wine has deep black raspberry and blueberry notes mixed with charcoal, graphite and subtle smoke. Rich, full-bodied and silky textured, this complex, stunning Pessac-Léognan from this tiny jewel of a vineyard near Haut Brion is hitting all the high notes in 2012. It should drink well for 15-20. This is another bottled wine that dramatically out-performed its barrel sample. (RP) 6

Domaine de Chevalier Booth #3 7 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc 2011 SKU 12921 Pessac-Léognan White Wine 750ml $149.00 RP 90-93 WS 91-93 WE 96 A powerful wine that s full of wood and ripe tropical-fruit flavors. It also has an intensely mineral structure that powers the wine right through to the concentrated finish. (WE) 8 Domaine de Chevalier Rouge 2011 SKU 12910 Pessac-Léognan Red Wine 750ml $78.99 RP 94 WS 92 WE 92 A spectacular effort, especially for this challenging vintage, Olivier Bernard s 2011 Domaine de Chevalier boasts a dense ruby/purple color as well as a big, sweet bouquet of subtle charcoal, graphite, black currants and black cherries. Rich and full-bodied with a multilayered mouthfeel and a long, complex, stunning finish, this is a profound example of a 2011 from a great terroir. Consume it over the next 20 years. (RP) 9 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc 2012 SKU 14180 Pessac-Léognan White Wine 750ml $181.21 RP 93+ WS 93 DEC 93 WE 94 There s serious depth to the shortbread, lemon curd, creamed yellow apple and melon notes, all inlaid with mouthwatering savory and thyme flavors. The long, powerful finish has plenty of buried mouth-watering acidity. This should age well. Best from 2015 through 2020. (WS) 10 Domaine de Chevalier Rouge 2012 SKU 14181 Pessac-Léognan Red Wine 750ml $96.80 RP 92+ WS 92 DEC 91 WE 94 This structured wine with big, bold red fruits offers ripe acidity, a dense texture and considerable concentration. It also has the hallmark freshness of the vintage that balances the strong aging potential. Drink from 2022. (WE) 7

Château de Fieuzal Booth #4 11 Château de Fieuzal Blanc 2011 SKU 16957 Pessac-Léognan White Wine 750ml $121.23 RP 89 WS 89-92 WE 93 A soft, full style, with a hint of pear backing mouthwatering kaffir lime and kiwifruit notes. Features a quinine streak on the finish. Score. (WS) 12 Château de Fieuzal Rouge 2011 SKU 16958 Pessac-Léognan Red Wine 750ml $85.37 RP 88 WS 90 WE 91 A delicious combination of new oak, black currants, earth and spice are found in this dark ruby/ plum-colored 2011. Slightly stern, but round and charming, this medium-bodied wine should achieve full maturity in 4-6 years and last for 15-20. (RP) 13 Château de Fieuzal Blanc 2012 SKU 16959 Pessac-Léognan White Wine 750ml $122.17 RP 90 WS 90 WE 94 The wine is beautifully balanced, poised between ripe yellow fruits and a tight, taut acidity and minerality. It shows roundness initially, then offers a long-term prospect of intense fruit and a strong structure. Drink from 2017. (WE) 14 Château de Fieuzal Rouge 2012 SKU 16960 Pessac-Léognan Red Wine 750ml $78.51 RP 89+ WS 90 WE 93 Powerful and complete, this shows all the juicy fruit as well as the structure of the vintage. It s big, ripe and concentrated with great fruitiness and tannins. Give this rich wine several years to age to bring out its ripe fruits and complex structure. Drink from 2022. (WE) 8

Château Larrivet Haut-Brion Booth #5 15 Château Larrivet Haut-Brion Blanc 2011 SKU 15668 Pessac-Léognan White Wine 750ml $86.32 RP 90 WS 92 WE 93 A very ripe and engaging style, with white peach, tangerine, green almond and chamomile notes that push through the juicy, salted butter-filled finish. There s lots of depth and energy to this, with an echo of quinine and brioche. A strong showing for this estate. Best from 2014 through 2019. (WS) 16 Château Larrivet Haut-Brion Rouge 2011 SKU 15667 Pessac-Léognan Red Wine 750ml $68.86 RP 90 WS 90 WE 91 A sexy, open-knit 2011, Larrivet Haut-Brion exhibits lots of cherry, cassis and smoky, spicy notes as well as a meaty, seductive style with excellent texture, medium to full body and no hard edges. Performing well already, this fleshy effort will be even better in 3-4 years, and will last for 15-20. (RP) 17 Château Larrivet Haut-Brion Blanc 2012 SKU 16961 Pessac-Léognan White Wine 750ml $95.04 RP 90-92 WS 90 WE 93 Ripe, creamy and powerful, it s full of tropical fruits, apricots and peaches, all firmly supported by rich wood flavors. It makes a strong statement of broad fruits and a generous texture while also offering a chance to age. Drink from 2017. (WE) 18 Château Larrivet Haut-Brion Rouge 2012 SKU 16962 Pessac-Léognan Red Wine 750ml $86.31 RP 89-91 WS 89 WE 90 A sleeper of the vintage, this 2012 offers up scents of smoked meats, charcuterie, balsam wood, black currants and unsmoked cigar tobacco in a juicy, attractive, medium-bodied, well-made, lush style. It should drink well for 10-12 years. (RP) 9

Château Latour-Martillac Booth #6 19 Château Latour-Martillac Blanc 2011 SKU 15817 Pessac-Léognan White Wine 750ml $75.39 WE 93 This wine is tight and taut, with minerality. Its fruit is heavily citrusy, with a character that cuts like steel through the nervy texture. This shows aging potential. (WE) 20 Château Latour-Martillac Rouge 2011 SKU 15676 Pessac-Léognan Red Wine 750ml $67.30 RP 91+ WS 90-93 WE 89 An authoritative, rich, concentrated effort, the inky/purple-colored 2011 Latour-Martillac possesses graphite and black currant aromas as well as surprisingly full, powerful flavors that transcend the vintage character. This wine needs to be forgotten for 3-4 years, and drunk over the following two decades. This is clearly an overachiever in 2011. (RP) 21 Château Latour-Martillac Blanc 2012 SKU 16963 Pessac-Léognan White Wine 750ml $76.33 RP 90-92 WS 91 WE 92 A bright, pure style, with a fleur de sel note leading the way for lemon zest, pink grapefruit, white peach and honeysuckle flavors that knit nicely and bounce through the finish. Drink now through 2017. 3,000 cases made. (WS) 22 Château Latour-Martillac Rouge 2012 SKU 16964 Pessac-Léognan Red Wine 750ml $68.21 RP 90 WS 89 WE 91 From the Jean Kressmann family, Latour-Martillac has made major strides in quality in both white and red wines for well over 10-15 years. The 2012 has a dense ruby/purple color, and better integration of oak is apparent in this medium to full-bodied wine that shows lots of plum, blackcurrant, licorice and subtle earth. It is medium to full-bodied, with ripe tannin and a long finish. It is another successful 2012 from Pessac-Léognan, one of the top appellations in this vintage. Drink it over the next 15-20 years. (RP) 10

Château La Louvière Booth #7 23 Château La Louvière Blanc 2011 SKU 15815 Pessac-Léognan White Wine 750ml $51.68 WS 89 WE 95 An intensely herbaceous wine, with delicious flavors of grapefruit, apricot juice and spice. The finish is lively and fruity, with mineral acidity. (WE) 24 Château La Louvière Rouge 2011 SKU 15692 Pessac-Léognan Red Wine 750ml $51.68 RP 90 WS 89 WE 89 A brilliant success for Andre Lurton, the 2011 La Louviere displays abundant notes of creme de cassis and licorice intertwined with subtle smoke and oak, medium to full body, sweet, velvety, well-integrated tannins and surprising depth as well as texture. The wine builds authoritatively on the palate with no hard edges. It is another example of the success Pessac-Leognan and Graves enjoyed in 2011. This sleeper of the vintage should age well for 10-12 years. (RP) 25 Château La Louvière Blanc 2012 SKU 16965 Pessac-Léognan White Wine 750ml $51.68 RP 89 WS 91 DEC 88 WE 94 This is juicy and well-packed, showing notes of singed straw and paraffin, with lots of zippy lemon zest, grapefruit curd, tarragon and quinine accents. Really kicks in on the finish. A rock-solid style that needs a touch of cellaring. Best from 2015 through 2018. 4,500 cases made. (WS) 26 Château La Louvière Rouge 2012 SKU 16966 Pessac-Léognan Red Wine 750ml $51.68 RP 88 WS 88 DEC 88 WE 88 From one of the flagship estates of André Lurton, La Louvière (which has given me great pleasure, both white and red for many years) is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. A supple-textured, sexy style of Pessac-Lèognan with a dense ruby/purple color, loads of cassis and ripe plum fruit. This wine is medium-bodied, judiciously oaked, long, rich and round. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. (RP) 11

Château Malartic-Lagravièr 27 Château Malartic-Lagravière Blanc 2011 SKU 15696 Pessac-Léognan White Wine 750ml $137.47 WS 91-94 WE 96 This blazes with chalk, lime, thyme and white asparagus notes that are very defined, with a long, chiseled, herb-and-salt-driven finish. (WS) 28 Château Malartic-Lagravière Rouge 2011 SKU 15695 Pessac-Léognan Red Wine 750ml $91.63 RP 91 WS 91 WE 92 Vivid, expressive, juicy and concentrated, the 2011 Malartic Lagraviere comes from good-sized estate of 131 acres, of which 17 are dedicated to their excellent white wine. Made from a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot, it exhibits a dense ruby/purple color along with a supple, medium to full-bodied texture with no hard edges, an opulence and exuberance that provide lots of seductiveness, and tell-tale notes of burning embers, charcoal, kirsch liqueur and black currant fruit. Drink this impressive 2011 over the next two decades. Only 55% of the production made it into the grand vin. The natural alcohol is 13.5%. (RP) 29 Château Malartic-Lagravière Blanc 2012 SKU 14127 Pessac-Léognan White Wine 750ml $107.36 RP 93 WS 90 WE 95 This brilliantly run estate of the Bonnie family has 17 acres dedicated to white varietals. Traditionally, Sauvignon Blanc has dominated in these wines, but I m not sure what the blend is for 2012. It is a beautifully perfumed Malartic featuring honeyed and caramelized citrus as well as honeysuckle in a medium-bodied, wonderfully fresh, lively style with terrific fruit and intensity. Drink it over the next 20+ years. (RP) 30 Château Malartic-Lagravière Rouge 2012 SKU 14128 Pessac-Léognan Red Wine 750ml $68.46 RP 94 WS 92 WE 94 This large estate of 131 acres has been run brilliantly by a Belgian family, the Bonnies since their acquisition a number of years ago. The quality of the white and red have soared to exceptional heights, and this is certainly still one of the more realistically priced wines of Pessac-Lèognan and classified crus. The 2012 is a beauty, with a dense ruby/purple color, a fabulously plush, opulent texture and medium to full-bodied flavors of cassis, spicy earth and blueberry. Quite rich, yet light on its feet, this is an absolutely 12 textbook Pessac-Lèognan, with wonderfully velvety tannins. Drink it now, or drink it in 25 years. This is a brilliant wine. (RP) Booth #8

Château Olivier Booth #9 31 Château Olivier Blanc 2011 SKU 15811 Pessac-Léognan White Wine 750ml $73.21 WS 92 WE 92 Bounces around pleasantly, with vibrant, high-pitched talc and tarragon notes leading the way, followed by plump flavors of dried pineapple, yellow apple and lemon curd. This finishes off with a long, lightly salted, stony finish. Should age well. Drink now through 2021. (WS) 32 Château Olivier Rouge 2011 SKU 15812 Pessac-Léognan Red Wine 750ml $70.40 RP 89 WS 89 WE 90 This is a solid wine with a dense texture and powerful tannins. Its big structure supports ripe fruits, with sweet berries and fine density at the end. (WE) 33 Château Olivier Blanc 2012 SKU 16967 Pessac-Léognan White Wine 750ml $75.39 RP 87-88 WS 92 WE 94 A focused, steely style, with a chiseled thyme and savory edge running along a rapierlike core of chamomile, quinine, white peach and yellow apple fruit. Shows solid zip and depth, and should age well. This estate has delivered superb back-to-back whites in 11 and 12. Best from 2015 through 2019. (WS) 34 Château Olivier Rouge 2012 SKU 16968 Pessac-Léognan Red Wine 750ml $68.53 RP 88 WS 90 WE 93 This wine is full, juicy and fresh with acidity as well as ripe plum fruits. It s concentrated with a big layer of sweet tannins and firm structure. At the same time, the wine offers the right balance between fruit potential and dry texture. Drink from 2020. (WE) 13

Château Smith Haut Lafitte 35 Château Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc 2011 SKU 13052 Pessac-Léognan White Wine 750ml $158.00 RP 89 WS 94 WE 95 Loaded with layers of blanched almond, white peach, yellow apple and Cavaillon melon fruit flavors, all backed by piercing chamomile, fleur de sel, citrus oil and green plum notes. The finish shows vivacious acidity. This is the rare dry white Bordeaux that actually needs cellaring. Best from 2015 through 2020. (WS) 36 Château Smith Haut Lafitte Rouge 2011 SKU 13051 Pessac-Léognan Red Wine 750ml $125.00 RP 94+ WS 93 WE 92 The grand vin, the 2011 Smith-Haut-Lafitte is another great successes (and that s saying something after the remarkable duo of 2009 and 2010 as well as the brilliant 2008). This wine exhibits a dense purple color along with a big, sweet nose of creme de cassis, mulberries, licorice and subtle background oak. Full-bodied with silky tannins, nicely integrated acidity, wood and alcohol, a multilayered mouthfeel, and a finish that lasts 45 seconds, this brilliant wine should drink well for 15-20 years. One of the best run estates in Bordeaux. (RP) 37 Château Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc 2012 SKU 14122 Pessac-Léognan White Wine 750ml $176.04 RP 95 WS 94 WE 95 The grand vin, the 2012 Smith Haut Lafitte, offers up lovely honeysuckle, orange marmalade, white peach, fig, and caramelized citrus notes. Medium to full-bodied, with great concentration and length, and a stunningly long finish, it should last for 20-25 years. (RP) Château Smith Haut Lafitte Rouge 2012 SKU 14121 Pessac-Léognan Red Wine 750ml $125.27 RP 95 WS 94 WE 94 Booth #10 38The opaque bluish-purple 2012 Smith Haut Lafite offers up notes of licorice, graphite, blueberry and blackberry fruit, a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, stunningly ripe, velvety tannins and a long, long finish. This is another sensational effort from the Cathiards that is perfectly balanced, complex, super-rich and pure. Drink it over the next 20-25 years. (RP) 14

Booth #11 Château Canon-La-Gaffelière 39 Château Canon-La-Gaffelière 2011 SKU 12911 Saint-Émilion Red Wine 750ml $105.00 RP 91 WS 93 WE 92 Offers a deliciously mouthwatering range of red currant, damson plum, blackberry and loganberry fruit, spiced with hints of black tea and cinnamon and backed by a long, briary, finegrained finish. It is a noble, intense Canon with sweet tannin, lavish concentration (atypical for the vintage), and a stunningly long finish. It should drink well for two decades, and will always be one of the major stars of the vintage. Bravo! (RP) 48 Château Canon 2012 SKU 13993 Saint-Émilion Red Wine 750ml $116.41 RP 92+ WS 88-91 WE 93 The 2012 is the first truly profound Canon under the administration of the Wertheimers, the family that owns the famous haute couture house of Chanel. Improvement has been noticeable for a number of years, but this wine is remarkable, particularly in view of a more challenging vintage. The color is a healthy dark ruby/purple, and the wine offers up great minerality along with floral, black-fruited characteristics. What s not a surprise are the nobility, elegance and finesse of this wine (70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc) married with serious richness and intensity. Give it another 5-6 years and drink it over the following 20-25 years. (RP) 19

Château Rauzan-Ségla Booth #16 49 Château Rauzan-Ségla 2011 SKU 13021 Margaux Red Wine 750ml $149.00 RP 93 WS 92 WE 94 The grand vin, the 2011 Rauzan Segla, is a beauty. Aromas of spring flowers, graphite, creme de cassis and kirsch jump from the glass of this dense purple-colored 2011. Lots of nobility, complexity and richness characterize a wine that could be mistaken for a first-growth in 2011. This medium to full-bodied, concentrated, gorgeously pure, well-balanced beauty should be forgotten for 2-4 years and drunk over the following 15-20. Kudos to administrator John Kolasa and his team. (RP) 50 Château Rauzan-Ségla 2012 SKU 14065 Margaux Red Wine 750ml $116.41 RP 94+ WS 91 WE 94 This firmly structured, beautifully crafted wine has a solid backdrop of tannins and plenty of concentration. Château Gazin Booth #17 51 Château Gazin 2011 SKU 12754 Pomerol Red Wine 750ml $117.00 RP 93+ WS 89 WE 89 A powerful, virile 2011, Gazin reveals a dense ruby/purple color, a big, meaty, earthy richness, lots of coffee, black cherry liqueur and spice notes, and a full-bodied mouthfeel. It will benefit from another 3-4 years of cellaring and should keep for 15+ years. (RP) 52 Château Gazin 2012 SKU 13958 Pomerol Red Wine 750ml $123.94 RP 95 WS 91 DEC 90 WE 87 This is certainly one of the great 2012s from Pomerol. What s amazing is that it is 100% Merlot. Readers may have forgotten (or never knew) that a chunk of this vineyard was sold to Petrus in the early 1970s, but what remains is still a superb terroir and incredibly well-placed on the plateau of Pomerol, adjacent to Petrus and across the road from Lafleur. This wine tips the scales at 14.5% natural alcohol, which puts it right up there with the 2009 and 2010. This points further to the sensational success Pomerol enjoyed in 2012. It is inky purple in color, with a glorious nose of black fruits, an unctuous texture, and a full-bodied mouthfeel. Sometimes Gazin can show too much new oak in its youth, but that is not an issue with the 2012. This is sensational Pomerol and one of the great wines of this vintage. Give it another 5-8 years of cellaring and drink it over the following two to three decades. (RP) 21

Opaque purple, with beautiful crème de cassis notes, the wine has floral underpinnings, sweet tannin and a nice layered, multidimensional mouthfeel. A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, it is broad, rich, medium to full-bodied and dense. It boasts an inky/purple color as well as lots of concentration, silky tannins, and a bigger, richer mouthfeel than any of its St.-Julien peers. The result is one of the stars of the vintage. The 2012, a blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc, is opaque purple, thick-looking, and from bottle much more impressive than it was from barrel. This very extracted, rich, full-bodied, masculine Léoville Poyferré needs a good 5-8 years of bottle age and should evolve well for at least 20-25 years. Loads of blackberry and cassis, crushed rock and graphite notes are present in this medium to full-bodied, impressively concentrated and pure wine. Forget it for a while, as this is one of the bigger, richer Médocs. (RP) 38

This impressive, deep, opaque ruby/purple wine, with loads of charcoal, crème de cassis and a flowery-ness, this is rich, medium to full-bodied, beautifully textured, quite pure, and avoids any of the astringency or hollowness that some Médocs possess in this vintage. The wine is complete and finishes authoritatively. The tannins are there, but ripe, integrated and velvety. This is a very impressive d Armailhac to drink over the next 20-25 years. (RP) 39

Château Clerc Milon Booth #36 89 Château Clerc Milon 2011 SKU 12951 Pauillac Red Wine 750ml $99.00 RP 88 WS 91 WE 94 Continuing its impressive development, Clerc Milon 2011 is a serious wine. (WE) 90 Château Clerc Milon 2012 SKU 13986 Pauillac Red Wine 750ml $99.82 RP 92 WS 90 WE 94 Now firmly in its new cellars, Clerc-Milon s wine is performing at the top of its form. This is a dense wine with juicy acidity as well as sweet tannins and ripe blackberry fruits. They give a ripe wine that is finely structured. The juicy aftertaste, typical of this vintage, is appealing although it does not detract from its power and longevity. Drink from 2022. (WE) 40

(WE) 92 Château Lynch-Moussas 2012 SKU 16972 Pauillac Red Wine 750ml $79.13 RP 89 WS 87 WE 92 Another relatively obscure Pauillac, although a classified growth in the 1855 classification, Lynch-Moussas has long been owned by the Castéja family. With soft, juicy tannins and attractive blackcurrant and plum fruit, this dark ruby/purple-colored wine is well-made, elegant, ripe, luscious and fruit-forward. It can be drunk now or cellared for 12-15 years. This is an excellent Lynch-Moussas. (RP) 41

Booth #38 Château Pichon-Baron-Longueville 93 Château Pichon-Baron-Longueville 2011 SKU 13017 Pauillac Red Wine 750ml $189.00 RP 91 WS 92 The 2011 Pichon Longueville Baron exhibits a dense ruby/purple color, an opulent mouthfeel for a 2011, silky tannins and no hard edges. Its structure is apparent, and the wine offers a wealth of blackcurrant fruit interwoven with licorice, graphite, and background toasty oak. Full-bodied, opulent and moderately tannic, this wine is approachable now because of its low acidity, but promises to age beautifully for 20+ years. This is another great classic from Pichon Baron. (RP) 42

Château Doisy-Daëne Booth #41 101 Château Doisy-Daëne 2011 SKU 12821 Barsac White Wine 750ml $80.00 RP 95 WS 95 WE 93 Tasted blind at the Sauternes 2011 horizontal tasting. The Château Doisy-Daëne 2011 builds upon its outstanding performance from barrel. It has a powerful bouquet with seductive scents of wild honey, yellow flowers and orange blossom that are well defined, perhaps a little more extravagant then Denis Dubourdieu s wines of yore. The palate is mellifluous on the entry with well-judged acidity, sensual and harmonious, poised on the entry and then fanning out gloriously with Clementine and honeyed notes that shimmer. This is an irresistible Barsac. Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey Booth #44 108 Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey 2011 SKU 13152 Sauternes White Wine 375ml $36.00 RP 93 WS 92 WE 94 The 2011 Chateau Lafaurie-Peyraguey has a very primal nose with dried pineapple, beeswax, a touch of sea spray and wet stone. The palate is medium-bodied with a harmonious, viscous entry and very well-judged acidity that lends tension and poise. There is something more effortless about this 2011 compared to recent vintages, with a tang of marmalade popping up on the finish that is very elegant. Excellent. (RP) 109 Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey 2012 SKU 16985 Sauternes White Wine 375ml $45.77 RP 90 WS 89 WE 92 The 2012 Chateau Lafaurie-Peyraguey has a slightly earthier bouquet compared to the 2011 with touches of lemon peel, honeysuckle and orange zest. The palate is well balanced with a noticeably spicy entry. Moderate weight in the mouth, quite vibrant with good botrytis if not the depth and elegance of the previous vintage. This will probably be earlier drinking than the 2011, but it is finely crafted. (RP) 47
