All entrants must complete and return the Artist Information and Artwork Submitted forms in this packet. All entrants must print and complete an ID Tag for each piece of art submitted. Admission is free and open for public viewing during the hours listed above. Medals and cash awards of up to $500 will be given to the Adult Division winners. Cash award winning artwork will be displayed at Fairview Town Hall for one year. Medals will be awarded to winners of the Student Divisions. Art that is controversial, obscene, sexual or insensitive will not be accepted. Art that is not completely dry will not be accepted. The artist retains all rights to the artwork but grants permission to the Town of Fairview to reproduce their work for the purpose of promotion and publicity, both now and in the future. While the Town will attempt to take great care with all works, the Town and the venue owners are not liable for any loss, damage or theft of artwork You do not have to be a resident of Fairview to enter the Town of Fairview Art Show. ART SHOW AGREEMENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS DIVISIONS Each of the following seven divisions will be judged independently: Early Elementary: Students in grades Pre-K 2, regardless of age. Intermediate: Students in grades 3 5, regardless of age. Middle: Students in grades 6 8, regardless of age. High: Students in grades 9 12, regardless of age. Adult: Amateur adults 18 years and older. An amateur is defined as an artist who does not earn more than $2,000 per year selling their art. Student Photography: Students in grades Pre-K 12, regardless of age. Adult Photography: Amateur adults 18 years and older. An amateur is defined as a photographic artist who does not earn more than $2,000 per year selling their art or photographic services. MEDIA ACCEPTED Original 2D work completed within the last three years in the following media will be accepted: oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor, ink, pencil, charcoal, mixed media, printmaking, metalwork and photography. Original 3D work will be accepted as long as it can be safely hung and meets all criteria for hanging, size and weight. All art work must be completely dry. Entries previously entered in Town of Fairview Art Show will not be accepted. LIMITATIONS This is a family-friendly show. No works that are controversial, obscene, sexual or insensitive will be accepted. Maximum artwork dimensions (four sides added together) including frame is 168 inches with no one side bigger than 60 inches. Framed entry may not weigh more than 25 pounds. All entries must be show-ready, sturdily framed, tightly wired and completely dry. Gallery wrapped paintings may be unframed if they are finished on all sides. Saw tooth hangers will NOT be accepted. PAPERWORK & ENTRY FEES Paperwork and entry fees are due to the town on or before Thursday, March 23, 2017. Late registrations may be accepted from March 24 to April 6, 2017, as space in the show permits, as determined by the event organizers. There will be a fee of an additional $20 per artist for late registrations. Late registrants should email ECappon@FairviewTexas.org before submitting their forms and paperwork. Participants are solely responsible for the timely arrival of their paperwork. Completed paperwork and payment should be mailed or delivered to: Fairview Art Show, Attn: Liz Cappon, Town Secretary, 372 Town Place, Fairview, TX 75069. The entry fee for Pre-K 12 students is $10 for first entry, $5 for each subsequent entry, up to a total of $25 for four entries. The entry fee for adults is $25 for first entry, $10 for each subsequent entry, up to a total of $55 for four entries. Entries submitted during the late entry period will require an additional fee of $20 per artist. Page 2 of 8

All checks should be made payable to the Town of Fairview. Cash or credit card payments can be made in-person by visiting the Utility Billing desk in Fairview Town Hall, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Those paying by credit card will be required to pay an additional 3 percent processing fee. A copy of your payment receipt from the Town along with all completed entry forms should be left at the Utility Billing desk to the Attention of Liz Cappon, Town Secretary. ARTWORK All artwork must be delivered and picked up in person at the venue. No mailed artwork will be accepted. Participants are solely responsible for the timely arrival and pick up of their artwork. Artwork must be delivered to the venue on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 3 to 8 p.m. If you are unable to deliver your artwork in person, you must send a representative with the artwork during the time frame stated above, no exceptions. The drop-off venue in The Village at Fairview will be listed no later than one week before artwork drop-off at fairviewtexas.org. Artwork must be picked up Sunday, April 23 from 4 to 5 p.m. If you are not available, you may designate a representative to pick up your artwork on the Artist Information form. Whoever collects the art will be required to sign for each piece. A $10 fee will be assessed if artwork is not picked up by 5 p.m. on April 23. After the pickup time expires, all leftover work will be moved into storage at Fairview Town Hall. All artwork left over 30 days shall become the property of the Town of Fairview. AWARDS All art will be prejudged; awards will be given at a reception on Sunday, April 23 from noon to 4 p.m. The show will be open for public viewing during this reception as well as Friday, April 21 from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, April 22 from noon to 4 p.m. Student Divisions Medals will be awarded for first, second and third place in each student division. A limited number of Honorable Mention medals may also be awarded at the discretion of the judge. Adult and Photography Divisions To be judged by a featured Juror as publicized in all promotional material, unless otherwise noted. Multiple cash prizes will be awarded with a Grand Prize of $500. All cash award winning pieces will be displayed in the foyer of the Town Hall for a period of one year. Town Choice Awards A limited number of pieces in the Adult Division will be selected for a Town Choice award, as judged by members of the Town of Fairview Public Arts Committee. These pieces will split a cash prize of $400, however, in the case that only one Town Choice award is given, no more than $200 per artwork will be awarded. The winning piece(s) will be displayed in the foyer of the Town Hall for a period of one year. Peoples Choice Award Medal(s) will be awarded for the winner(s) of this award which will be chosen by a paper vote by attendees during the public viewing times on Friday and Saturday. Page 3 of 8

LIABILITY THE TOWN IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS, DAMAGE OR THEFT OF ARTWORK. THE TOWN OF FAIRVIEW SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INJURY TO ARTIST/EXHIBITOR, THEIR PERSONNEL, AGENTS, REPRESENTATIVES OR EMPLOYEES OR FOR ANY LOSS, DAMAGE OR THEFT OF ARTIST S/EXHIBITOR'S WORK, EQUIPMENT OR OTHER PERSONAL PROPERTY ARISING OUT OF THE ABOVE EXHIBITIONS/DISPLAYS, THE MOUNTING AND/OR ANY OTHER ACTIVITIES INVOLVED IN THE PREPARATION AND/OR PRESENTATION OF THE EXHIBITIONS/DISPLAYS OR ANY OTHER ACTION OR ACTIVITY. ARTIST/EXHIBITOR AGREES TO ASSUME ALL RISK OF DAMAGE TO OR LOSS OF HIS/HER OWN ART FROM WHATEVER CAUSE. ARTIST/EXHIBITOR FURTHER AGREES TO RELEASE, HOLD HARMLESS, AND DEFEND THE TOWN OF FAIRVIEW, TEXAS ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES, VOLUNTEERS, AGENTS AND ANY PERSON OR ENTITY IN CONTRACTUAL PRIVITY WITH THE TOWN FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITIES AND LOSS, DAMAGES AND THEFT TO ART WORK AND/OR PERSONS AS A RESULT OF ANY PART OF ARTIST S/EXHIBITOR'S PARTICIPATION IN THE ART SHOW OR ANY OTHER CAUSE. Publicity Artist/Exhibitor grants permission for the Town of Fairview to reproduce his/her name, information describing his/her work, representations of his/her work and any other information he/she has provided for the purpose of display, promotion and publicity either now or in the future. Artist retains all rights to the artwork, except as specified herein. Display The artist understands and agrees that, if selected for a cash award, the artwork will remain on display in Fairview Town Hall for a period of one year to begin after the end of the 2017 Fairview Art Show and to end after the 2018 Fairview Art Show. Sales of Artwork Arrangements for the sale of any artwork will be solely between the artist and the buyer. The artist will keep 100 percent of their sale proceeds. The artist may provide a public contact and the Town will attempt to provide information, if requested, if possible. Winning artwork selected for display must remain at the Fairview Town Hall for a full year, even if the item is sold.
