They represent a crisp hop bitterness combined with a flowery hop aroma. Many of the more common pilsners are light beers simple in character. Pale & Amber Ales These beers range from light straw to deep mahogany, malty to fairly hoppy. Amber Ales tend to be maltier than Pale Ales in general. Belgian & Belgian Style Beers India Pale Ales IPA s are intensified version of Pale Ales. They have high hop bitterness and strong hop aroma.
