Built in 1914 and opened in 1915, The Mercantile was established to replace the old Mercantile Rowing Club Hotel. It has since become an iconic pub, welcoming guests all year round for drinks, great hearty meals and true Irish hospitality. Our Spaces We have a number of spaces available to suit small or large groups. If you would like to view one of our function areas, please contact our event coordinator to arrange an appointment at events@themercantilehotel.com.au The Main Bar 200 Cocktail Style Great for informal gatherings, this space is ideal for smaller groups to large bookings. Book a table amongst the action of The Mercantile which can include some outdoor space and live music. The Dining Room 24 Seated 40 Cocktail Style This versatile space accommodates 24 seated guests for lunch or dinner. Alternatively, 40 guests for a cocktail style event. The rooms quaint features set the tone for an enjoyable occasion. The Office 80 Cocktail Style Perfect for standing/cocktail style functions of up to 80 guests. This space has its own private bar and outside space with exclusive access for your guests only. With warm wooden and unique fixtures, it s the perfect space for a corporate or private affair.

Terms and Conditions Confirmation, Hire Fee and Deposit To confirm a function booking, the following is required: 1. Hire Fee 2. Deposit 3. Completed Booking Form 4. Signed Terms & Conditions Insurance/Damages Our organisation will take reasonable care, but will not accept responsibility for damage to or loss of items before, during or after the event. You are financially responsible for any loss or damage sustained to our property or the premises during your function or by your guests entering or leaving the venue. You are also responsible for any loss or damage to equipment hired by on your behalf. Cancellation If cancellation occurs within 2 weeks of the event date (4 weeks from November to January), the deposit and hire fee is forfeited. If cancellation occurs 5 working days prior to the event date, the client will be charged 100% of the food costs & hire fee. Final Numbers and Details Guaranteed minimum numbers of guests attending and all final details should be notified to the event manager no less than 5 business days prior to the event. Once given, numbers can increase up to 3 business days prior to the event, however, not decrease. No changes in numbers will be taken after this time. Entertainment can be arranged at an additional cost prior to your event. Additional security may be required for your event at an additional charge. Payment Full payment of food and beverage packages are required on or before the date of the function. Outstanding beverage tabs are to be settled at the conclusion on the evening of the function. No extensions of payment will be permitted. Payment can be made by direct deposit, credit card or cash on or before the function date. Credit card details and identification must be given as security for all beverage tabs. If payment is not supplied in full at the close of the event, the credit card authorisation that has been supplied will be charged. Invoicing is only permitted if a credit agreement has been established with The Mercantile Hotel. Other The client shall conduct the function in an orderly manner and in full compliance with the rules of The Mercantile Hotel management and in accordance with all applicable laws. The client is responsible for the conduct of the guests and invitees and indemnifies the hotel for all costs, charges, expenses, damages and loss caused by any act or omission by the client, client s guests or invitees. No food or beverage of any kind is permitted to be brought to the function by the client, client s guests or invitees unless prior permission has been obtained. Responsible Service of Alcohol In accordance with the NSW state government s RSA laws, The Mercantile Hotel reserves the right in its absolute discretion to exclude or remove any undesirable persons from the function or The Mercantile Hotel s premises without liability. Management reserves the right to close the bar when deemed necessary by the management. The Mercantile Hotel also reserves the right to cancel the booking if: - The Mercantile Hotel or any part of it is closed due to circumstances outside the hotel s control. - The function might prejudice the reputation of The Mercantile Hotel. - The room hire and food has not been paid by the due date.
