UVic Highlight The UVic Formula Motorsport team aims to develop exceptional engineers and business leaders by offering a project that they can be passionate about within a safe and competitive environment. They design, build, test and compete with a small open-wheeled race car in Formula SAE, the largest intercollegiate student design competition with nearly 700 teams worldwide. The team is always looking to improve their program through technological advancements and industry partnerships so that more students may join and learn and develop themselves while still in school. General Manager Dan Angus dreams about taking this amazing UVic Engineering Department Formula Race Car for a test drive Congrats to our wonderful Engineering Department for creating another marvelous machine.
We are excited to be planning UnWined Vancouver Island, which will be taking place September 27, 2018 at the University Club in Victoria. This year s event is shaping up to be our biggest and best one yet, MC ed by Ed Bain, from CHEK News and 100.3 the Q, and we would love to see you there! It will be an exciting evening of food, drink, auction and some special wish touches. Make-A-Wish BC & Yukon grants approximately 125 wishes each year, with almost 25% of those coming from Vancouver Island. With the average value of a wish at $14,000 we rely entirely on individual and corporate donations and special events, such as UnWined.
