Title: Dark Chocolate V.S White chocolate

Abstract The purpose of this project is to determine which chocolate will melt the fastest. My hypothesis is that the dark chocolate will melt the fastest because the sun absorbs dark colors. I learned this in a research. I researched in books, and the computer. I learned that chocolate is made of a cacao tree.

Table of Contents Problem Page 1 Hypothesis Page 2 Background Information Page 3 Materials Page 4 Experimental Procedure Page 5 Data Collected Page 6 Conclusions Page 7 Resources Page 8

1 Problem Which chocolate will melt the fastest? Dark chocolate or White chocolate

Hypothesis Hypothesis: I think that the dark chocolate will melt the fastest because the sun absorves dark colors and the color of the dark chocolate is dark. 2 Null hypothesis: I think that the white chocolate will melt the fastest because the sun absorves light colors and the white chocolate is light colored.

Background Chocolate is made from the fruit of the cocoa pods contain nibs that are crushed to make unsweetened chocolate. When the cacao is crushed, there are fats and solids remaining. Those fats are called cocoa butter. The solids are ground into the soil powder.cacao is dried in the sun for about 7 days before shipped from the country of origin to the chocolate manufacter.

Materials 1 Dark Chocolate Hershey s 1 White Chocolate Hershey s 2 Glass bowls 1 sun

5 Procedure 1: First I get all my materials together. 2: Then I open the chocolate bars and only get three pieces of both bars. 3: Place the chocolate outside so the dark chocolate can melt in bowl #1. 4: We place the white chocolate in bowl #2 so it can melt there. Then you well get you re results.

Data collected Dark chocolate White chocolate 15 minutes 25 minutes 17 minutes 21 minutes 14 minutes 26 minutes

Conclusions My hypothesis was correct I said that the dark chocolate will melt the fastest. And I was correct in my hypothesis. 7
