Wine Cooler 21 Bottle Model MA0097WC-21 Instruction Manual - Read in full and retain for future use

Thermoelectric Cooling The cooling system, also called the Peltier Effect, is a solid safe method of heat transfer through dissimilar semiconductor materials. During operation direct current is passed through the semiconductor module which causes heat to be transferred from the inside of the appliance to the outside. This system is more efficient and environmentally friendly than conventional compressor gas driven refrigeration. Features 70 litre capacity 21 bottle capacity (maximum) Dual cooling zones 7 C-18 C Upper zone, 11 C-18 C Lower Zone Max cooling range of 18 C below ambient Thermoelectric cooling (no compressor) Auto defrost Soft interior lighting Full glass door No refrigerant, environment friendly Operation Guide Carefully read this manual in full before using this appliance, particularly the safety instructions. Wipe the interior with a warm damp cloth to remove any impurities that may have accumulated. Ensure the shelves are correctly installed. Installation and Position Place the appliance in a suitable area away from direct sunlight and other heat sources. This appliance operates relative to the ambient temperature around it. For best results install in a cool area away from other heat sources. If the ambient temperature around the unit is too high it will affect its efficiency. Also if the ambient temperature is too low it will also affect its operation. This appliance operates most effectively between 10 C - 25 C however it will also work in temperatures as low as 5 C. Temperatures outside these minimum and maximum ranges will affect the operation of the appliance. It is not recommended to use this appliance outside of these temperature levels. An ideal ambient would be 18-20 C. Switch the appliance off if the temperature levels are constantly outside these levels. WARNING! DO NOT COVER THE APPLIANCE WARNING! DO NOT BUILD THE APPLIANCE INTO CABINETRY 2

Power Connect the supply plug to a suitable 220-240V AC 50Hz power outlet and switch on. This appliance operates safely across Australasia. It is predominately an extra low voltage (12V) appliance and is relatively inexpensive to operate. Setting the Temperature When first connected, after a brief period the digital door display will show the interior temperature measurement of each zone and you will hear a beeping sound. To set the desired temperature for each zone, use the UP/DOWN buttons on the display to set the desired temperatures in each compartment. Once selected, the display will return to the current temperature inside the cooler. When the selected temperature is reached the unit will maintain that temperature as a steady state. The right hand set of buttons controls the lower zone and has a range of 11 C-18 C. The left hand set of buttons controls the upper zone and has a range of 7 C-18 C. Temperature Stability Note! The digital display is a whole number so that it may fluctuate between 2 numbers depending on the surrounding ambient temperature stability, for example if the temperature internally is 7.5 C it may read 8 C or 7 C for a time. Note! The ambient temperature has an effect on the ability to cool. If the appliance is placed in a room with large variations or high temperatures this will affect the operation. Always place the unit in a cool stable environment. Warning! Do not enclose this appliance in cabinetry. The appliance may not cool properly. This appliance is designed to be free standing only. Moisture High build-up of moisture on the interior or exterior is not unusual during periods of high humidity. Simply wipe moisture and also minimise the times that the door is opened. Do not leave the door open longer than is necessary. Internal Lighting Press to turn the interior lamps on or off 3

Wine Storage Temperature Guide Important! Wine is a perishable beverage and storage conditions can impact greatly on the overall taste, quality and aroma. To achieve the best possible taste wine needs to be stored and served at the right temperature. Stored at the wrong temperature, or extremes of temperature, will damage the quality of the wine. Stored at too high a temperature ages wine prematurely. Stored at too cold a temperature delays maturation and can result in deposits in the wine. The old adage serve reds at room temperature and refrigerate whites doesn t hold true in reality. If you serve a wine too cool, the flavor will be disguised and if you serve wine too hot alcohol becomes the dominant taste. Also important to the overall quality of the wine is fluctuations in temperatures. Wine needs to be kept at relatively constant temperatures. Serving a wine at the right temperature is a hard task as you have to take into account several elements like: the presence of tannins, the structure of the wine, its age, and the style of the wine. Left over wine in a bottle will also last longer when kept at the correct temperature. The below table gives an indication of suitable serving temperatures for the main varieties available (short term, up to 1 week and long term storage). Alter to suit your taste. 15-17 C (Short term) Syrah, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec 14-16 C (Short term) Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec 10 12 C (Short term) Rose wines 11-12 C (Short term) Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc 9-11 C (Short term) Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris 7 10 C (Short term) Champagne, Dessert wine 12 C Long term wine storage for both whites and reds 4

Wine glass choice There are many different sizes and types of wine glass specific for use with certain wine varieties, however we suggest that 2-3 types should be sufficient. Select a smaller glass for white and a larger more rounded glass for red wines. Generally full bodied wines are best in larger glassware whilst lighter, fruitier wines do well in small glasses. White wine is best in a more upright U shaped glass so that it maintains its cool temperature longer. Red wines are best served in large wine glasses. The bowls of these glasses will be fuller and rounder with a larger opening than other wine glasses of similar capacities in order to allow you to dip your nose into the glass to detect aroma. This bowl style is also imperative because the complex aromas and flavours of red wine demand a glass with a larger surface area to ensure that the wine comes in contact with more air. For champagne or sparkling wines choose fluted or tulip shaped glasses. The narrow shape will help keep the bubbles intact longer and maintain the flavour. 5
