Cambridge Nutritional Sciences Food IgG Microarray

Cambridge Nutritional Sciences Ltd (CNS) has developed FoodPrint, a laboratory-based system utilising state-of-the-art microarray technology. Originally invented for studying DNA and gene expression, CNS has extended the microarray technology to Food Intolerance testing. FoodPrint is a sensitive and accurate technique that can detect the presence of IgG food-specific antibodies to over 220 commonly eaten foods. The FoodPrint system has been installed in almost one hundred laboratories globally to-date. Hundreds of thousands of tests have been performed since its launch in 2007, providing patients with valuable dietary information that has enabled them to improve their health. IgG Food Intolerance Test Many people exhibit chronic food sensitivity. Unlike the immediate effects of IgE-mediated food allergy, IgG-mediated food intolerance reactions may take several days to appear. Symptoms include lethargy, weight gain, dermatitis, arthritis, migraines and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Controlled removal of the suspect foods from the patient s diet can, in many cases, rapidly improve their condition. Features & Benefits Works with whole blood, plasma or serum 5μl sample volume - finger-prick sample is less invasive for the patient High throughput multiplex assay - 64 samples assayed in 2 hours Highly miniaturised 1 slide instead of 80 microtitre plates Cost savings no need for microtitre plates and associated equipment Fully quantitative results reactive foods can be easily identified Flexible array design allowing for dietary variation Detects over 220 food IgG antibodies with no pooled/mixed testing Wide range of food panels available accommodates any budget or dietary need FoodPrint Technology The FoodPrint microarray is produced by printing over 220 food extracts, in duplicate, onto nitrocellulose pads attached to a glass microscope slide, together with calibration standards and controls. Each protein spot measures only 130μm in diameter. Blood samples are diluted and dispensed onto the printed microarray and any food IgG antibodies present in the sample will bind to the food extracts. Bound food IgG antibodies are detected through the use of immunoassay reagents which produce a blue reaction in the presence of an antibody. The intensity of the reaction is measured using a high-resolution optical scanner and calibrated against known standards, using proprietary software to produce quantitative results. Concise, colour-coded personalised food reports are generated, allowing the patient or health professional to determine the most reactive foods with ease. Assay Methodology The FoodPrint assay is simple to perform and all incubations are conducted at room temperature. It takes less than 2 hours to complete 1-4 slides containing 16-64 patient samples.

Methods Load slide into slide frame Add diluted patient sample Wash slide x 4 Incubate for 30 minutes Dispense conjugate Wash slide x 4 Incubate for 30 minutes Add TMB substrate Wash slide Incubate for 10 minutes Dry in micro-centrifuge Scan in High Resolution Scanner Microarrays are scanned using a high-resolution optical scanner Proprietary easy-to-use GUI software converts raw data into individual patient reports

Cambridge Nutritional Sciences Results Fully quantitative results are generated for every patient tested. Results are presented in personalised food reports which identify the precise IgG antibody level for every food item selected. The following reports are also available from the FoodPrint 200+ test: FoodPrint 40, FoodPrint 60, FoodPrint 120, FoodPrint Vegetarian, FoodPrint Vegan and FoodPrint Herbs/Spices. Reports are concise, colour-coded and grouped according to food reactivity or food groups, allowing health professionals to easily identify problem foods: Report 1 Foods listed alphabetically in food groups Report 2 Foods listed in order of reactivity Ordering Information PRODUCT CODE DESCRIPTION PACK SIZE CNS350 FoodPrint Microarray System Package 1 system CNS301-1/4 FoodPrint Microarray 200+ Food IgG (4 patient) 4 tests CNS301-4/4 FoodPrint Microarray 200+ Food IgG (16 patient) 16 tests CNS301-16/4 FoodPrint Microarray 200+ Food IgG (64 patient) 64 tests Kits to be stored at 2 C to 8 C.
