Business Plan G: Why Did You Pick This Idea/ Would You Do This In The Future? I picked this idea because I love to bake. Just all the instructions that you have to do may be overwhelming for some but for me it is relaxing because the science is so fascinating when all it was was goop then it turns to a delicious, moist, warm cupcake or cookie. Ever since I was four I would help my Dad with all the baking and now I do it all by myself. I also picked the idea to make The Pink Ribbon cupcake for cancer because I personally feel that cancer is a big thing and it affects many people s lives. Another reason is my Mom s friend Tanis who was struggling with cancer and I think that by making these donations that I could change some people s lives for the better. I also got the idea for The C.A.T. Cupcake because this concept also can damage people s lives and futures. I also feel like many people go through accidents and are diagnosis with a brain injury of some sort and can t recover. Also my Uncle and Cousin were in a Jet Ski accident just recently and my Uncle passed away and my Cousin is struggling with a brain injury. That is why it is called The C.A.T. Cupcake. The C.A.T Cupcake means The Craig and Teagan Cupcake (Uncle Craig and Cousin Teagan). I would do this business in the future if I got the opportunity because I am passionate about baking and baking is something that if I could not do something else I would consider. I also think I could make a good living doing it.

A: The Venture My business is a cupcake bakery and the name of my bakery is Wonderland Cupcakery. My business is special because I use recyclable packaging. We also will be donating money from sales of two of our cupcakes to cancer research and brain injuries research. The Wonderland Cupcakery has two shops one is located in Banff Alberta on Bear Street. The other one is located in Calgary Alberta on 3 rd Street SW. I will need building rent for my stores in Banff and Calgary. I will also need 3 ovens, 2 fridges, 2 big counters, 2 big mixers, 20 muffin pans, 1 freezer, paper muffin cups, 20 icing bags and 40 tips. A sink where we can wash our icing bags, 8 display case coolers for cupcakes, computer for money management, lock boxes, 10 tables, 32 chairs, power and water. B: The Product and Service My business will be selling cupcakes such as Oreo, Cookie Dough, Kit Kat, ROLO, Lemon, Pumpkin, Wonderland Original, The Pink Ribbon, The C.A.T. Cupcake and 2 sizes of cupcake cakes. The designs of cakes are "Happy Birthday heart, basketball, volleyball, baseball etc., birthday/party hat, names, cupcake, rainbow, flowers, numbers and seasonal specials. The benefits and special features are my Pink Ribbon cupcake because one third of the proceeds go to cancer research. Also my cupcake called The C.A.T Cupcake one third of the proceeds of all sales of this cupcake go to brain injury research. C: Marketing and Prices Many people will be buying my cupcakes such as the people who live in Banff and all the visitors from the tourist attractions. Also the people who live in Calgary. There is some tourist attractions in Calgary as well so the visitors for the Calgary attractions will also buy my cupcakes. I will market my business through ads on the radio and on television. Also my business cards, flyers and a billboard that will be located just outside of Banff and Calgary. My pricing is $3 per cupcake, $15 for 6, $28 for 12 and $40 for 24. I also sell cupcake cakes in two sizes. Size 1 (40 cupcakes) is $100 and size 2 (60 cupcakes) is $150.

D: Workers I am the owner of my business. I will work on Mondays to prepare for the upcoming week. I would bake, wash icing bags and tips, and wash mixers and other equipment. Also clean the tables, counters, chairs and display. I would lastly put new cupcakes in the display cooler so they look nice and fresh. I will have employees as well. I will have four employees two in Calgary and two in Banff. I will also visit the shops and check in. I pay each of them $15 an hour and that will mean that in a year they will get $37 440. My workers will need to be educated in many things such as Home Ec, reading, math, science. They should also be educated in art because my cupcakes need to be iced artistically. E: Day to Day My business hours are Tuesday to Sunday 11:00am to 9:00pm. I do no work on Mondays because that is when I bake, clean, freshen up the display and the tables, counters and chairs. At that time I will also be buying ingredients. I will buy my supplies from the Co-op. From the Co-op I would need tools such as muffin pans, muffin papers, icing bags and tips. I would also need ingredients like flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, buttermilk, whole milk, vanilla, chocolate chips, icing, chocolate bars like Kit Kat and ROLO and flavourings.

F: Money Plans My total cost for my first year of expenses is $334 224 and I will need a loan. My loan will cost $266 27. My sale goal for the year is $374 400. One expense for the year would be tools such as muffin pans, muffin cups, icing bags, icing tips, power, water, rent and the extra tools if needed. I will also need ingredients such as flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, eggs, sugar, brown sugar, canola oil, vanilla extract, buttermilk, butter, whole milk, chocolate chips and other small ingredients. The ingredients are in the cost of my tools and equipment with my counters, mixers and other tools and my cost for all of that is $10 337. I will also need to advertise with the radio, billboards, flyers, my website and my business cards, I will put in $2 000 for that. I will also need to pay for my electronics such as the computer that I use for money management that would cost $3 000. I am also going to need to pay for insurance I will be setting aside $5 000 for that. I will also need a vehicle that I would use so I could drive in between both stores that would cost another $6 000. Just in case I have put $2 000 for repairs if needed. I am also going to need to keep my recipes somewhere so I have put $5 000 for bookkeeping. I am also going to need office supplies but very little so I put $500 to that. I also gave myself an owner salary of $80 000.

G: Why Did You Pick This Idea/ Would You Do This In The Future? I picked this idea because I love to bake. Just all the instructions that you have to do may be overwhelming for some but for me it is relaxing because the science is so fascinating when all it was was goop then it turns to a delicious, moist, warm cupcake or cookie.
