O ne of the greatest things about living in Cy-Fair is the many restaurant choices, and there s no better way to spend a beautiful summer day than by having lunch on a breezy patio or enjoying dinner under the stars with your family. Cypress Station Grill 26010 Hempstead Rd., Cypress 713-703-2931 This restaurant prides itself on the great family style food that everyone can enjoy, and the train station theme that reminds customers that the Cypress Railroad Station once stood there. The grill is relatively new, opened since June 2008, but doesn t seem to be closing its doors anytime soon. The covered patio has ceiling fans, a radio, and a wide screen TV. An uncovered patio wraps halfway around the restaurant and features a stone fireplace. Live music can be heard on Saturdays and some Sunday afternoons throughout the summer. Santa Fe Flats NewMex Grill 21542 Hwy. 249, Houston 281-655-1400 Torres family owned, the New Mexico restaurant bases their dishes on family recipes. One of their specialties consists of a New Mexican chile dish not as a side, but as a dish itself. The décor is also New Mexican, with art and pottery to create a great cultural environment. The restaurant offers both covered and uncovered patios, as well as a small outdoor area with a sandbox for kids. Instead, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and the great handmade burgers. Also enjoy the amazing variety to be considered when ordering your burger; the list is extensive and contains original choices such as Ostrich, Buffalo, Turkey, Mexi, and Veggie Burgers. The fun décor imitates a Mexican outdoor market or cantina. Chuy s 19827 N.W. Fwy., Houston 281-970-0341 Decorated with all things Elvis, Chuy s created a fun environment that ultimately became an Elvis Presley memorial. The fun atmosphere carries through the restaurant and out onto the patio with lush landscaping and ceiling fans. Their burritos are large and their recipes are made from scratch with fresh ingredients. P.F. Chang s 8250 Tomball Pkwy., Houston 281-571-4050 The restaurant s décor blends Chinese design with a modern bistro look for the perfect sophisticated, stylish, and comfortable environment. Enjoy your favorite Chinese dish out on the patio, and if the sun gets in your eyes, just ask them to lower the screens.
