The saying time flies when you are having fun has sure been true for us. The end of 2009 and beginning of 2010 has been a great year for business and all of the Berdoll s. We have all been working very hard to ensure that our retail, mail order, and internet businesses continue to prosper. Jared and I have been very busy listening to our customers and striving to grow our business. We know our customers have a sweet tooth, so in 2010 we began dipping Chocolate Covered Pretzels, baking Texas-Sized Cookies, and have just added Berdoll s Pecan Bars -a unique dessert with butter, sugar, coconut, bourbon, and of course, pecans. We love being the taste testers for all of our new goodies. The Berdoll family remains happy, healthy, and still growing. Jared and I continue to own the retail business we are in our 2nd year and love it! We rely on Hal and Lisa to give lots of tender loving care to the 15,000 pecan tree so we can provide great quality pecans to our customers. Jared continues to make improvements to our operations and processing, while I spend lots of time at the retail store. In our spare time we go to the lake and play with our dog, Riley. Hal continues to work hard in the 15,000 pecan tree orchard and 150,000 pecan tree nursery. We don t think he will ever slow down! Lisa is always on call to work at the retail store when needed. I love having her help and she loves seeing her long-time customers. Exercise is still a main focus in her life. She loves to walk her dog, Scarlet, work in the yard, and go country western dancing. Hal and Lisa have really been tearing up the dance floor. You can often find them at The Broken Spoke two-stepping. I wish I could get some of their energy! Hal and Lisa are proud to announce their new title as Nana and PopPu as they have just become grandparents. Kylene and Will have the most exciting news for the Berdoll clan. On September 6th, they welcomed a baby girl, Kyndall Lynn Harvey, into their lives. We are so excited to have a little one to play with and another future Berdoll employee. Kylene is still a massage therapist, while her husband Will is a law enforcement officer. They continue to love their herd of goats and sheep. My twin brother, Brandon, continues to operate his own sawmill and build high-end custom furniture. Most of his work is out of pecan and mesquite wood. Brandon s wife Brandi manages the retail store and focuses on fundraising accounts, corporate gifts, and our website, www.berdoll.com. In their free time Brandon and Brandi like to spend time at the ranch and ride horses. Our retail store, located 10 miles east of the Austin airport, is open 7 days a week. We are a store with a country feel and a smell that will knock you off your feet when you come in the door.
